Page 59 of Desiring Them

“Have a good night,” Linda said as she left the room.

Ramesh practically bowed to us. “Ladies, today has been a pleasure. See you again soon.”

Riva checked her phone while I gathered my things together.

“Oooh, guess who’s messaged me while we’ve been busy today?”

“I don’t know. Who?” I asked distractedly. Now that we’d wrapped everything up for the day, my mind had gone straight to Ruben.

“Your super fine neighbor, that’s who.”

I gulped at the thought of Riva and Jeremy together. I hoped she didn’t notice my slight pause. “So you and Jeremy are an item now?”

“I’m not sure I’d call us an item. But it’s fun. He’s asking me to come over tonight.”

I pushed my bag onto my shoulder. “Well, in that case, do you want to ride share?”

“Perfect,” she agreed.

“I’ll book something.”

“I’ll text him yes,” she said with a bright smile.

We left Estate Styles in companionable silence as we tapped away on our respective phones. The silence became relatively uncomfortable when we put them away and stood there. I wasn’t sure what to say to Riva. This was new ground for me, and I wasn’t sure what was happening.

Was I attracted to her?Certainly.

Did I want to play with her again?Absolutely.

But beyond the bedroom, what were we?

Work colleagues, sure.

Friends, possibly.

Other than that, it was strange territory.

“So, I heard you going off last night.”

I went bright red. “W-what?”

“You and some guy. A cute, nerdy guy, right? Who was he?”

“My boyfriend.”

“Your boyfriend’s cute, if you don’t mind me saying.” Riva curled her shoulders when I didn’t reply straight away.

I smiled. “No, of course, I don’t. My boyfriend is all kinds of nerdy hot.”

Riva giggled.

“He’s also bisexual and interested in opening our relationship.” What was I implying by telling her such information?

Riva’s eyes lit up. “Now that’s sexy. Have you told him what we did yet?”

“Not yet.” I wasn’t exactly sure why I hadn’t.

“Why not?”
