“You’re right, we can’t kick him out,” Taz said. “And Kai’s right, if I go out there, I’ll want to beat the shit out of the guy and that will only land me in jail.”

“And then, he’ll be able to get to me because I’ll be all alone. I think that’s what he wants,” Kai said.

“You need a restraining order,” Ryker said. “But it might take some time to get one. You’ll have to appear in court.”

“I don’t want to have to go through all of that. I’m sure that once he calms down and realizes that I’m not worth all of this trouble, Gabe will find someone else to stalk,” Kai said. “But I don’t want to wait on him. Would you mind handling his order?” she asked Ryker. He was working the bar tonight and usually, the waitresses took food orders, even at the bar, while Ryker concentrated on drink orders.

“No problem,” Ryker agreed. “I’ll take good care of him.”

“Remember, he’s trying to pick a fight,” Kai warned. “Don’t give him one.”

“No promises,” Ryker mumbled, walking out into the dining room.

“Are you sure that you’re okay with all of this?” Taz asked.

“No,” she breathed, “I wish that I hadn’t taken my friend’s advice and tried to make you jealous. If I could go back and time and change that one thing, I would, but I can’t. So, I’ll just have to find a way forward and if Gabe wants to waste his time stalking me, then that’s on him.”

Taz pulled her into his arms, kissing the top of her head. “Everyone has things that they regret and would like to change, honey,” he said. “I’m sure that sooner or later, he’ll find a new project and move on. Until then, don’t let him get under your skin, and don’t face him alone. You go anywhere from here on out, you take either me or Ryker. That guy is trying to prove a point and I’m afraid he won’t stop until he’s done so. I don’t want you alone with him, got it?” Taz asked.

“You don’t have to worry about that,” she promised. “I have no desire to be anywhere near that guy ever again. I better get back to my tables and you have some orders to fill.”

“Right, just holler if you need me, Kai,” Taz said.

“Will do,” she promised, disappearing back out into the dining room. He wasn’t sure if their plan was a good one or not. He usually wasn’t a sit back and do-nothing kind of person, but Kai was right—if he did something stupid that got him arrested, she’d be all alone out there. He just couldn’t let that happen.
