“I’m not asking you to give up your firm, honey,” he said. “I just want to give you options. I’ll pay you double what your firm brings in on a yearly basis,” he offered.

“Double?” she asked. “You’re out of your mind, Ethan,”

He chuckled, “Not really,” he said. “I just know what I want, and I want your security firm to keep my assets safe. At least consider it,” he said. How could she not think about it? It would be the only thing she’d think about, besides their night together, for the rest of the day.

“I’ll think about it,” she promised. “But now, I have to run. I have a busy day and half the morning is already gone. It’s almost lunchtime. Plus, I called the lobby, and your driver is waiting to take me back to your office for my car. I don’t want to keep him waiting.”

“Yeah, we got a pretty late start,” Ethan said. “How about dinner with us tonight?”

“Dinner sounds good, but can we make it a late one? I think I’ll be working into the evening hours,” she said.

“A late dinner works for me,” Ethan agreed.

“Great,” she breathed. “Text me the details. I’m going to grab my things and sneak out. I’m going to head over to Linc’s place to figure out what he needs to do to secure it. Tell him I’ll see him later to go over the plans.”

“Will do,” Ethan said. She disappeared down the hallway to the master bedroom, feeling Ethan’s eyes on her the whole way, and God, she loved having his attention.
