Lifting his head, he grinned. “That’s why this is going to work. We’re completely in sync.”

He sounded completely confident and a little cocky, but she agreed with him so that made it okay.

Raking her hand into his hair, she did her best to sound serious. “Seems to me that since we have so much time to make up for, we should stop wasting it with all this talking.”

Then his grin turned completely wicked. “We’ve got all night, Savannah.”

And for some reason, that made her laugh. “Did I forget to thank you for that? For completely mortifying me?”

“What? How?”

“Between Amy’s knowing looks, and Cash’s little speech on safe sex…” She groaned. “Is nothing private in your family?”

With a shrug, he began kissing his way down her body. “Not really, but as long as it keeps you here in my bed all night, I’m fine with it.”

And really, so was she.

“I’m so glad they deliver,”Savannah said a few hours later while dipping a loaded potato skin in ranch dressing.

“It’s good to know the owners,” he told her with a wink.

And it honestly was.

When Jackson called the pub to order food, he was fairly sure he was going to have to pick it up. But after confiding in Jamie how he was on a date and wasn’t too keen on leaving…well…he took pity on him and sent his brother Patrick over with the food.

Note to self: tell Liam how awesome his brothers are…

They were sitting on the oversized sofa and Savannah was wearing one of his shirts and nothing else, and it was as perfect as he imagined. Taking a bite of his burger, he watched as she hummed happily as she ate.

“So I’ve got to ask—is it the ranch that makes you that happy or the loaded potato skin?”

She looked at him like he was crazy. “Why can’t it be both?”

Laughing, he shrugged. “I suppose it could, but some people have an obsession with ranch dressing and I was curious if you did.”

Licking her fingers, she seemed to ponder the question. “I don’t think it’s an obsession, but when I find a really good ranch dressing, I find excuses to use it, and I guess it does make me happy.”

“Craziest thing you put ranch on…and go!” he teased, and before he knew it, she dipped her finger in the cup of dressing and smeared it on his chest before leaning over and licking it off.

This girl…

With an impish grin, she asked, “Does that count?”

Immediately tossing his burger down, he cupped her face and kissed her until they were both breathless. “Everything with you counts. Everything.”

Slowly they straightened and went back to their meals and the conversation stayed on safe topics, like food and her job with Parker.

“So you’re enjoying it?”

“Definitely. Your cousin is amazing, and she has a way of putting everyone at ease.”

She didn’t look at him as she spoke, but he sensed there was something more that she wasn’t saying.

“But…?”

Looking up, she frowned. “But…what?”
