“Not at all. You were only sharing your truth with me.”

My words hung between us for a moment. Neither one of us spoke for a while. The only thing that could be heard was the heavy breathing between the two of us.

“Goodnight, Gavin,” she said in a breathy tone.

“Goodnight, Daniella, sweet dreams.”

Then she hung up the phone.

I stood by the kitchen window staring out to her room. Then I saw the curtains pull back slightly, and her head peek out from the corner. I was too far to see her face, but I knew it was her. She stared out to the cottage, and I was sure she could see me in the kitchen. The light was on and the blinds were drawn.

We stared at each other for a moment before she moved away from the window and made her way back to bed.

“I will accept all parts of you, Daniella Anderson. Whatever parts of you that you are willing to give me, I will take. I will love you enough for the both of us until your heart learns to love again.” I walked away from the sink fully having made up my mind.

I wanted Danny and, one way or another, I was going to get her.
