Chapter 12 - Gavin: Stormy Nights

Three days. That’s how long it had been since I had talked to Dan properly. She had to go out to Sandlewood the morning after the wedding in order to get some supplies for the ranch. It had been torture not seeing her, especially after our kiss. I had thought it would have sated some of my hunger for her but it had only intensified it. I wanted more. I craved more.

I resisted the urge to call her because I wanted us to have a proper face-to-face conversation. I wanted this woman, and I knew that she wanted me too. I wanted her to know that I was not here for some one-time fling. I was all in.

She had arrived late in the afternoon while I had been out rounding up the cattle for the slaughterhouse. I had every intention of going to her then but, when I went to the main house, Maddy had informed me that she was asleep.

Maddy and Marcus were headed to a baby moon. I didn’t even know that was a real thing until Maddy had to extensively explain it to me after she proceeded to call me uncultured. It was supposed to be their time away from it all before the baby arrived.

The thunder roared and the rain continued to pour outside. The lightning flashed and the wind raged. The silhouettes of trees swaying filled my window. This was a big one. Towards the end of summer, there would always be big rains in Riverroad. I had forgotten just how big they were until now.

It was well past nine, and I knew Danny was up because she could never sleep through storms. She had always been scared of them since we were kids. When we had a sleepover once, I remember she climbed into my bed. I had woken up from the rustling, and I had held her hand that night until she fell asleep. And since that day whenever there was a storm and I was near here I always made sure to hold her hand through it.

The urge to go to her had been gnawing at me since the first roar of thunder had boomed throughout the sky.

Heading down the stairs without even looking for my jacket, I made my way out the door and headed for the main house. The rain pelted down on me as I raced to the main house. I walked up the porch and then knocked on the door. The wind made me shiver as I waited for her to open it.

A few seconds later, Danny opened the door. She was in a baggy t-shirt and little tight black shorts. I had to refocus my mind so that it didn’t wander too far.

“Gav? What are you doing out in the rain?”

“You don’t like storms,” I said like it was the most obvious thing.

She pulled me into the house and closed the door behind us.

“You are soaking wet. Let me go and grab some of Marcus’ clothes for you to change into. Can you throw your wet clothes into the dryer please?”

I nodded and made my way to the laundry room. I dripped water all over the dark hardwood floors of the house. I would mop that up later. I could hear Maddy’s voice screeching in my ear.

I stripped out of my clothes and threw them into the dryer. I grabbed a towel out of one of the cabins and wrapped it around my waist.

I walked back out of the laundry room but, as I did so, Danny came crashing into me. I helped to steady her by placing her hands on my waist. Our faces were mere inches apart from one another. That electricity that usually pulsated between us was at high frequency.

Our breaths mingled with one another. Her shirt had ridden up and I could see little bits of skin on her stomach. I had never been more attracted to skin than I had been within that moment.Fuck. This woman is driving me crazy.

“Sorry,” she muttered. Her chest rose and fell. “I brought your clothes.”

I stared into her blue-gray eyes which reminded me of the sky just before rainfall. They were this blue-gray that had my heart racing inside of my chest.

“Thank you,” I said righting her so she was upright. I didn’t take my eyes off of her even for a second.

“I will go make us some coffee or something,” she turned to walk away but then my hand shot out and stopped her. She looked down at my hand on hers and then her eyes traveled up to meet mine. There was a heated desire behind her eyes that had blood rushing to my cock

“What?” She said in a breathy tone.

“I forgot to do this,” I lowered my lips down to hers in a tantalizing kiss that had me feeling breathless and dizzy. This woman had me in a head spin, and I never wanted to get off that ride.

She responded to me with no hesitation. She melted into me, bringing her arms around my neck. She pulled me closer eradicating any distance between the two of us. Our tongues collided in an intricate dance that only we knew.

She pushed and pulled. Her tongue danced on the inside of my mouth exploring every inch. She tasted like strawberries.

The blood rushed down to my cock. It never took much for Danny to get me going. She had that effect on me. Within seconds of her mouth meeting mine, I was hard and ready for her. I wanted her. No, I needed her. She was like oxygen, and I was suffocating.

I reached down and grabbed her legs and hoisted her up. She wound her legs around my waist as my hands rested on her ass kneading her cheeks and earning me a moan. We continued our intricate dance our mouths kissing sloppily. Her hands found their way into my hair her fingers threading through my strands. She tugged my hair gently adding more fire to the already blazing inferno within me. Fuck she felt good up against me.

Danny’s tongue licked the roof of my mouth tasting every inch of me. She ground her centre to mine causing my cock to twitch under her motion.

I pulled away slightly, “baby if you don’t stop, I am going to embarrass myself just now.”
