“If you want a baby, then I will give you a baby right now if you want, but I also know what you want to achieve in your life. And a baby is not for right now.”

“I want both.” She pouted.

“Then, fine.” Grayson leaned over and kissed his wife. “If you want a baby, I will get you pregnant tonight.”

“Okay.” She beamed at her husband.

When I turned away from them and looked to my boyfriend, he was already staring at me.

“What?”

“Would you want more kids?” He asked with a warmth in his eyes.

“Yeah,” I said, my eyes flicking to his lips before meeting his gaze again. “Would you?”

“I would want nothing more.” He leaned forward and pecked my lips.

“You two are so sweet, it’s giving me a toothache.” Maddy’s voice carried into the living room.

Our attention turned to the archway where my brother and his wife stood. Maddy had her hands on her hips, and Marcus had one arm on the small of her back and another carrying a pie.

“Sorry we’re late,” Maddy said, waddling into the room. “Nothing was fitting, and I wasn’t about to show up looking like Shrek’s distant cousin.”

“You look gorgeous, baby.” Marcus kissed the side of her head, earning him an eye roll from his wife.

“You have to say that. You are bound to me by law. Is it time to eat yet?”

“Yes!” Jade called from the dining room.

“Wonderful, time for me to gain more weight.” Maddy turned and waddled her way into the dining room. “Dammit. I need to pee first.”

She changed directions and started for the hallway which led to the bathroom. I shook my head, amused at my sister in laws antics.

After Maddy was done, and we were all seated, Lily rose from her chair.

“Right, I know I may not say it often enough, so I will say it now. I love you guys so much; you have no idea. You guys are the source of my greatest happiness and greatest stress. But I wouldn’t change a single thing about you guys. You all truly prove that family doesn’t always mean blood. I know there are times we will be at each other’s throats, but I just want you all to know that no matter the time, day, or weather, I am with you from now till the end of time.”

We clinked our glasses together, toasting to our friendship and lives together.

When Lily had said that she was going to handle Thanksgiving dinner, I had been a little worried. Lily was not the greatest of chefs even on the best of days, but I was shocked, to say the least. The spread she had prepared was amazing.

“Are you sure you didn’t buy this somewhere and then just put it in casseroles?” Grayson asked his sister again, poking at his plate.

“I will stab you with this, Gray.” Lily pointed her spoon at her brother. “Eat your food in silence. I prepared everything from start to finish. Nothing you see on this table is from a box.”

Grayson looked doubtful but he didn’t say anything, as he placed another forkful of food into his mouth.

Gavin’s phone buzzed for the fifth time since we had sat down. Just like all the other times, he declined the call.

“Maybe you should get that,” I said to him.

He shook his head. “No, it’s alright. Besides, it’s rude to get up from the table while we are eating.”

“It’s okay. It may be important. It could be your parents or Callum.”

Reluctantly he got up from his seat but not before pecking my cheek. His phone began to buzz again, and he rushed outside to answer it.
