“That’s the question of the day, isn’t it?

Mean, we just ended up crashing back in our hotel suite. At least, that’s where I woke up this morning. So that must have been where I ended up last night, right?” I’m treading dangerously close to babbling at this point, except, I can seem to stop myself. “And the craziest thing, a bunch of live lobsters ended up back there with us, too. Vegas, am I right?”

Clarisse breaks out into a big grin and says, “Oh my god, the lobsters.”

Not the reaction I was expecting, but if she can solve that mystery, I’ll be eternally grateful to her. Well, to her and her extremely talented tongue. I remember a certain little trick of hers from other times I’ve enjoyed Clarisse’s company in this club.

“You know about the lobsters?”

“Yeah, well, I know where they’re probably from,” Clarisse says, taking my hand in hers. Her soft, supple hand. She pulls a pen out of her back pocket and starts to write on my palm. Still holding my hand, she says, “Go here. This should answer all your feisty lobster questions.”

She brings my hand up to her mouth and kisses it, then brings a hand around my waist, drawing me in for a much deeper kiss.

“Ah…this is probably a bad time to mention that I’m married now, huh?” I say, stopping her just before she goes in for a repeat of our last encounter.

“Shame. Let me know if it doesn’t last. And don’t be a stranger,” she says, backing away. “I love when you comearound.”
