Nyx:Say no more

She was definitely fun to have around. And it seemed even the alpha had shown her his hidden secrets. There wasn’t jealousy there, but because I’d like to join in next time, my cock hardening at just the thought alone.

Despite the shit that brought her here, I was glad she’d found us. Even Leven was softening up a bit, and that man needed the stick removed from his ass in the worst way. And that was coming from his second in command.

An hour was just enough time to get started, so I dragged myself off of my couch and into the kitchen. My eyes roved over the contents of my fridge for a moment before I pulled out a package of steaks. I had a few peppers and an onion, so fajitas would be easy and perfect.

I pulled up my favorite cooking playlist on my phone, letting some ninety’s rock blare through the speakers as I washed and chopped the veggies and set them aside. I’d gotten an outdoor griddle, so I went out to my deck, leaving the door open so my music filtered outside as I heated the griddle and got to work.

My mind continued to try and figure out how to beat this asshole tracker the entire time. It was a miracle I didn’t sear my fingers along with the steak, but it was such second nature that I had them cooked perfectly, still tossing around the peppers and onion slices as I sang along.

“Damn. You sing and cook; how did I not know this?” Vanya’s teasing voice had me turning around, grin already in place. I let out a whistle as I took in her appearance. Her blonde hair was shining in the afternoon sun, long and flowing around her shoulders. She had on a black vee neck that showcased her curves beautifully. The flared jeans she had on hugged her hips perfectly and she didn’t even have to turn for me to know her ass looked delicious.

“You look amazing,” I told her, moving closer and pulling her in for a kiss. She let out a soft laugh, kissing me back easily. Her stomach let out a loud growl that had us both pulling away and laughing.

“It smells so good, I can’t help it.” She laughed, trying to peek around me. “What’d you make?”

“Steak fajitas,” I told her, going back to make sure nothing burned. The steak was resting so it was just the final moments before pulling the veggies off. “I didn’t bother to ask if you were a vegetarian since I’ve yet to meet a vegetarian wolf.”

“I respect the human’s choices to be one, but my wolf would revolt,” she joked. “Give me steak any day.”

“Well, if you ever get hungry, you know where to find me. Especially after a night with Callum.”

“Why because he’ll wear me out?” she asked, missing the point. I barked out a laugh at that.

“I take it you got introduced to his toy room?” I turned in time to see her cheeks flare. She nodded, not quite meeting my eyes. “I was referring to his lack of cooking skills. But that also works.”

“He did feed me cereal for breakfast,” she said with another huff of laughter. It made me feel good that she laughed more around me than the others. Even an idiot could see that she was thriving here, that all three of the men interested in her brought out a different side. Leven played to her fiery side, Callum to her sweet and spicy sides, and I kept her relaxed, enjoying life. “It’s hard to wrap my head around openly talking about you guys.”

“You know wolves used to take more than one mate? Callum’s old pack did, but they did it out of necessity. We get it, and in our case it makes sense, we all kind of fit together.”

“But…” she trailed off with a frown.

“What is it? You can talk to me, Vanya. I’m not one to judge,” I promised in a rare serious moment. She studied me then let out a breath.

“If you guys even looked wrong at another wolf, I’d be livid,” she admitted. “And that’s completely wrong and unfair to you.”

“We aren’t looking at other wolves, Vanya. It’s just you. If you want exclusivity, then that’s what you’ll get.”

“But—” she argued again, but I cut her off.

“No. There’s no buts needed, no arguments. We don’t want another wolf, Vanya. It’s not out of respect necessarily, it’s out of preference. You’re who I want,” I explained. A flicker of understanding hit her and she grinned.

“Good,” she said. “But what if that changes?”

I shrugged, knowing it wouldn’t be an issue. I’d never seen any one of us more committed to winning over a woman. She was different and we all fucking knew it. She was it for me, it was just a bit too soon to admit that to her just yet.

“Then we would talk then. For now, let’s eat,” I said, turning off the cook top and scooping the steak and pepper blend onto a platter and leading her back inside. I sang along to another song as I sliced the steak and started heating tortillas over the burner on my stove. Once it was all ready and plated up, I moved toward the living room. She dropped down on the floor by the coffee table where I’d sat the food, so I took the spot next to her, handing her a cold soda and grabbing the remote.

“Ooh, that one!” Vanya ordered as I scrolled past a new horror mini-series.

“I like your style,” I nodded in approval. “We’ll have to catch up on some horror movies.”

“I’m so here for that,” she agreed. “I haven’t watched any in too long.”

We dug into our food, barely talking as we got lost in the twisted storyline. She ate more than I thought possible, and I took that as a compliment because between her and Emma, they were the best cooks in the pack.

“So, you’re officially pack now,” I mused, nudging against her. She grinned for a second before worry flickered through the smile. “What’s wrong?”
