“I’m not sure what I should be doing, you know? Like I help Emma, but that doesn’t seem like enough. I want to work security part-time too but I have a feeling Leven would protest that even more vehemently than he did me coming here in the first place.”

“Let him, he doesn’t make the decisions. And they can start small with gate duty and rounds inside the walls before switching to outside rounds. You’d have to train for that like we all did anyway.”

“I could handle that,” she agreed. “Should I text Callum and bring it up?”

“Yes,” I said. “I’m fairly confident he will have seen this coming.”

“I’m not one for sitting around.” She shrugged unapologetically. “I’d go crazy if you guys expected me to stay in the kitchens and do nothing else.”

“I have a feeling even security won’t be enough. You’ll be like Callum, going around and helping everywhere he’s needed until you drop from exhaustion,” I half-joked, half-worried. “Better yet, don’t get any ideas, focus on your show.”

She chuckled and stood up, stretching. When she went to clear the table, I stopped her, shoving her playfully out of the way and gathering it up.

“No way, you’re the guest,” I said, taking it back to the kitchen to clean up later.

“I’m just a guest?” she asked innocently. There was innuendo in that stare and I was suddenly very grateful for our animalistic, high libidos.

“Well, you can be more but dishes are off limits,” I teased, coming forward and skimming my fingers over her waist and wrapping around grabbing a handful of her ass. “Have I told you lately that you have an amazing ass?”

“I’ve noticed you checking it out,” she shot back. Her smirk was full of chaos as she stepped back, dropping her clothes piece by piece. “We’ve had lunch, how about dessert?”

“I think that can be arranged,” I said right as my phone started ringing. Groaning, I answered. “Hey, Alpha, what’s up?”

“I need you in security in fifteen minutes,” he said without context then abruptly hanging up.

“Apparently I’m needed in the security office in fifteen minutes. That gives me ten minutes,” I said. She rose to the challenge, ripping my clothes off of me and climbing onto the island, spreading her legs. Stepping forward I dipped two fingers into her pussy, shocked to find her wet already. “Fuck, that’s hot.”

“I might have had some thoughts about you,” she joked. “Now fuck me.”

“Gladly,” I promised, stepping forward and lining myself up. She was at the perfect height for me so I slammed into her. She gasped, my mouth capturing her mouth and swallowing down her moans as I fucked her ruthlessly. Neither one of us had time or the care to drag this out, I just needed her like I needed air. My cock was hard as stone and I could already feel my orgasm clenching at my stomach and moving down to settle in my balls, a warning that she needed to come now so I could.

Reaching between us, I teased her clit and brought her to the edge with me. She whimpered, kissing me roughly as she ground into my hand.

“That’s right, baby, take it,” I encouraged, moving away from her mouth and down to her neck, sucking hard on the flesh there. She clearly loved that, fucking into me harder. Her pussy clenched around me as she came, the tightness nearly making me lose my mind. I bit down on her neck as I came, unable to hold back as she milked me for every ounce of cum I had in me.

“Holy fuck,” she breathed out as we broke apart. “That was a good way to end a lunch date.” Her laughter had me shaking my head as I cleaned us up and handed over her clothes. We got dressed quickly and I started gathering my phone and security keys. “I’m coming.”

“Did he text you?” I asked, but she shook her head and shrugged.

“No, but I’m coming regardless. If this has to do with something that doesn’t concern me, I can still stick around and talk to Callum. So either way… I’m coming.” There was a finality to her tone, and I wasn’t about to argue.

“Then, shall we?” I offered a hand and she intertwined her fingers with mine as we headed out.

“Leven,” she called out when we hit the street. His eyes lit up, then dipped to our joined hands and back up to her.

“Might want to fix that sex hair,” he joked. There was a tightness to his voice, but he held it in the best he could. Progress.

“Know what this is about?” I asked. He shook his head but looked worried.

“He didn’t sound good on the phone so nothing good. I wonder if his leads pulled up anything.”

“Maybe,” I sighed. “We need a damn break in this case. It’s dragged on long enough.”

Callum was walking out right as we walked into security, the gate opening up as the twins carried Daniel between them. His body was burned in several places and his face bloodied. Even from here I could tell his breathing was shallow. We all ran forward, taking their burden and helping our wounded guard into the triage room in the back of the security office. Once he was on the bed, I stepped forward and got the IV going before tending to his wounds. He would need a bit of sedation before he could shift.

“Daniel, what happened?” Callum asked gently. “Can you tell us anything?”

Daniel’s voice was strained with pain, breathing alarmingly shallow. “Tracker. More magic.” That was all he got out before his eyes rolled back. I heard the others talking in their panic but I focused on Daniel, talking him through this and praying his heart was still beating, though I could barely feel a pulse.
