The meeting didnotgo as I’d hoped. Antonio and Grant found nothing new. It was just the same information that the Grave Pack had multiple compounds. Our people were watching every one of them but it took us weeks to catch movement at the last one.
Callum and the other alphas had all agreed that since it was so quiet, we would be better off finding a more permanent location or return to our respective packs until more news emerged. Yet again we were stuck in this weird limbo, unsure of what would be coming next.
The idea of returning to the Bluffs had me a mix of excited and terrified. So much had happened since then that it almost felt like a whole other life. Yet it was also my home, the place I found my mates and my best friend.
And beyond that, we were no longer just a pack, but a mix of a pack and coven, multiple witches would be returning with us. Our lives were now forever changed and we’d have to establish a new normal.

“There’s just so much trauma in that place,” he said finally as he gestured at the building behind him, which had been repurposed into a clinic of sorts.
“They’ll regain their strength and start to heal,” I promised him as gently as possible.
He laughed bitterly. “Physically maybe. Imagine being forced to fuck your way through the guards. They didn’t care if they were mates or not it seemed. The rest of them were faced with the reality of having a mate so fucking deplorable they couldn’t bear to be around them.”

“No, but we can’t fix it all. Let’s refocus on what we can do, Nyx. Has anyone started trying to find out if they’re going back to their families or if the Bluff Pack is just growing?”
Footsteps stopped him from answering and I turned to see Callum, Leven, Torryn, and Holt coming our way.
“No,” Callum answered for Nyx. “But we can do that now. And Antonio is already on standby to help track down anyone we can.”
“Unfortunately the world they knew is over,” Holt said. He was blunt, but I was really starting to appreciate that about him. I had far too many people in my life who would rather sugarcoat everything.
“There’s a lot of beds in there, and I need to get back to my rounds,” Nyx pointed out.
