“Chill with all that, aight? I stay at the condo frequently, but since I was shot, I’m staying with someone that’s helping me out.”

“Is it your baby mama?”

“It is.”

Clynisha sighed. Denali didn’t know it, but Blaze hadn’t worked a day since he and Clynisha got married. When she thought he was at work, he was at his place or with another woman. And the times he didn’t come home from work for a day or three, he was taking random trips out of town. Thanks to Clynisha’s money, he was able to get his kids literally whatever they wanted and take them wherever they wanted to go. If he didn’t have a fetish for pussy, he would have thoroughly enjoyed being with Clynisha, but his appetite for multiple women made that impossible.

Blaze rolled his eyes and shook his head. It didn’t matter how much he wanted to deny her request, he couldn’t.

“What time do you need me to be at the estate?” Blaze continued.

“If your hair will be cut already, you can come at five. If not, be here at four.”

“Anything else?”

“I’ll call if there is.”

She ended the call and Blaze groaned. When they first met, Blaze thought he was in love with her, but it was really her money. He was taking care of home, and Clynisha started to take care of him. Then, he got locked up, and he saw just how loyal Denali was. While Clynisha wanted no parts of him while he was in jail, Denali did everything she could for him.

As soon as he was released, he committed himself to doing everything he could to make things work with Denali. Eventually, that commitment fizzled out, and he reconnected with Clynisha. The more she spoiled him and made Blaze happy, the more blinded he became.

It didn’t take Blaze and Clynisha long to realize they were in a deep state of lust. He’d temporarily called things off with Denali, giving her a cheap excuse about needing time to re-familiarize himself with being a free man. During that time, he’d fucked around and married Clynisha.

It wasn’t until he tried to divorce her that Blaze realized just how horrible of a mistake he’d made by marrying her. The only good thing that came out of it was that he was able to date women freely in private. The bad thing? He’d never be able to give Denali the future with marriage and more children that she was hoping for.

??????

The party for Clynisha’s father’s birthday wasn’t as bad as Blaze thought it would be. Harold, a white billionaire, had married Clynisha’s Black mother years ago to spite his racist parents. He didn’t realize the hell Clynisha’s mother would have to endure because of his selfish choice, but he made it worth it by spoiling her and giving her everything her heart desired.

He’d raised Clynisha the same way. The trust fund baby was a spoiled princess who was a socialite before she even knew what that was. Recently, she became a social media influencer because of her rich and lavish lifestyle. Like most privileged children, Clynisha had stipulations before she could access her money.

The stipulation?

Marriage, or she had to wait until she was thirty.

When Clynisha met Blaze, she was twenty-one and on cloud nine. He was the bad boy that her father begged her not to entertain. She told him if he gave her early access to her money, she’d break up with Blaze, but Harold didn’t agree. To spite him, she married the man her father wanted her with the least. What Clynisha didn’t know was that her trust fund was set to be given in monthly increments and if she did anything to dishonor her father’s family legacy or got a divorce, her payments would stop.

For forty-thousand dollars a month, Blaze agreed to remain married to Clynisha. They both were able to have as many affairs as they’d like, as long as they didn’t have children or be made public. Blaze had already fucked himself up by having two kids with Denali, but since they came before they exchanged vows, Clynisha made it clear that if he had even one more, she’d say to hell with her inheritance and call their agreement off. At this point, Blaze had more to lose than she did. If they divorced, she could find a rich heir to give her the lifestyle she was used to, but for Blaze? He’d have to actually work.

That truth was the reason Blaze did what he felt had to be done with Jacintha. When he first met Jacintha, he was extremely attracted to her. There was something about her vibe that called him. He even shared his first name with her, and Blazenevergave women his first name. Hell, Denali knew his name was Henry, but she never called him that.

Jacintha was special. She made Blaze feel needed and appreciated in a way that no other woman had ever done before. With the combination of all three women, Blaze’s life was temporarily perfect. Clynisha gave him money, status, and the financial security he’d never had. Denali gave him family and the ability to love and use his heart. Jacintha gave him respect and submission. She was good for his ego.

But Jacintha had to go and fuck it up by getting pregnant and threatening to find and tell his wife. Hitting her and killing their child had haunted Blaze every day since it happened, but greed was a motherfucker. There wasn’t shit he wouldn’t do to maintain his relationship with Clynisha… period. One day, Blaze was sure he’d have to answer for that. He wasn’t sure if it would be at the hands of her husband or God. Either way, he’d be prepared, but Blaze intended to enjoy the hell out of his life for as long as he possibly could.

The next morning, Blaze woke up to several missed calls from Denali. He couldn’t imagine how worried she’d been waiting up for him. Before leaving yesterday evening, he simply told her he was riding out with his boys to get some fresh air.

“Shit,” he grumbled, sitting up in bed.

The estate had ten bedrooms, removing the pressure of having to sleep with his wife. Blaze cleared his throat and looked to the side of the bed for his crutches. They’d been taken, and he chuckled. There was no telling what Clynisha’s ass was up to. He returned Denali’s several missed calls, hoping she wouldn’t give him too hard of a time.

“Hello?” she answered, calmer than he expected.

“Hey. My fault about last night. I took some pain pills and passed the fuck out.”

“It’s cool. We’re not in a relationship anymore, so I don’t really care what you do. I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
