“Is it a doggie?”

Elite chuckled as he opened the door for her. “No, Denali. It’s not a doggie.”

Her pout made him bite down on his bottom lip before kissing hers. “I thought we agreed we’d wait to get a puppy after we got married and moved in together?”

She shrugged and wrapped her arms around his neck. “I can wait, but honestly, I think I want it just because I want a new little baby. But I know we’re waiting, so there’s no rush on that.”

“That’s makes sense. I was feeling the same way. That’s why I set an appointment to talk to my doctor about getting this vasectomy reversed,” he said casually, intentionally closing the door and heading over to his side.

He saw her sit up in her seat, eyes wide and mouth open. Covering his mouth, Elite chuckled and shook his head. Denali didn’t even let him get in the Bronco good before she was gripping his arm and almost yelling, “Donotplay with me, Elite!”

Elite laughed as he closed the door. “I’m not playing, sweetheart. The consultation appointment is already set up.”

“You’re gonna give me a baby?” Between her pout and watery eyes, Elite was willing to say yes to just about anything at that point.

“Yes. Not right now. This is just me preparing. I want us to be intentional about expanding our family. But yeah. I’m getting ready to make that happen for us.”

Pulling him close by the ears, Denali kissed all over his face before settling on his lips.

“I love you so, so,somuch!”

“I love you too. Now let’s go look at this building I got for you.”

“Building?” she almost yelled, clutching the center console and making him laugh. “You showing out today!”

“It’s actually the building next to the one I got for my store. They were sold as a pair, so the one on the right is for you.”

“Baby… I—thank you so much. I don’t even know what to say.”

“You’ve said enough. You deserve this. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you, sweetheart. This is literally just the beginning.” As he drove off, Denali busied herself with unbuckling his pants. “What you doin’?”

“About to suck your dick, then ride it.”

“While I’m driving?”

“Yeah, unless you want to pull over.”

Between her nonchalant expression and serious tone, Elite couldn’t help but laugh as he took his foot off the gas. Pulling into the corner of the cove, he parked and cut the car off before pushing his seat back. Thank God the windows were tinted…

epilogue

Months later…

“You knowthe kids love Uncle Preme,” Supreme almost sang, cheesing as he showed Elite the kids playing in the background. Amir and Kinsley had taken to him quickly, which wasn’t a surprise to anyone. Not only was he loyal and a protector at his core, but Supreme was a big kid at heart. Every child that came around him felt safe and always had fun.

“Yeah, yeah. When you bringing my kids home?” Elite asked.

Supreme sucked his teeth before lowering the phone so Elite could see only him as he left the room. “I’on know. Probably after the sun goes down. How long is it gon’ take y’all to get everything set up?”

“We should be done by then. If you and Sis wanna stay here and eat, just let me know. I got some steaks out for us and burgers for them. I can pull some out for y’all too.”

“That’s what’s up. Gone do that. I’ll be at you.”

“Aight.”

After disconnecting the call, Elite headed into Denali’s place. Denali wanted to turn her home into a winter wonderland right after Thanksgiving to prepare for Christmas, and she wanted it to be a surprise. Of course, Elite agreed to help. He couldn’t remember the last time he was excited about any holiday… especially Christmas. Now, he had new reasons to look forward to the day. It wouldn’t be about anything he’d receive, but more about the kid’s excitement and what he’d be able to give. Already, Elite knew one of the gifts he was going to give Denali—an engagement ring.

“Bae!” he called out, not sure what part of the house Denali was in.
