Sincere released a sad sigh as his eyes closed. “I understand.”

“I do apologize for not talking this out with you. Yes, it’s my choice, but you’re my life partner. I should have talked it out with you first.”

“Now that you’ve let me in, I get it a little more. I definitely want to be selfish as fuck and try to make you fight this, but you have every right to do whatever will give you peace. I’m not going to lie and make it seem like I’m okay with this, but whatever makes you happy and gives you peace… that’s what I will accept.”

She lifted her head and looked into his eyes. “Do you mean that?”

Sincere looked away briefly, thinking over his choice fully. He would tell himself that he loved her and that’s why he wanted to keep her for as long as he could… but true love… would require him to release her. To accept that love was not attachment. That we were all gifted with love in human form for brief moments, some more brief than others. And even though he didn’t want to prematurely prepare to lose his wife, if that was what she needed, so be it.

“I do,” he confirmed softly. “If you don’t want to fight this, then I won’t fight you.”

“Thank you,” she almost whispered, tears pouring rapidly.

Sincere smiled as she held him tighter, snuggling into his embrace. Eyes closed, he brushed his tears away quickly as he implanted this moment into his memory, unsure of how many more moments like this they had left…

Faith

“Baby,”Faith cooed, weakly trying to push Sincere away. Ever since they’d found a small layer of common ground, he hadn’t been able to keep his hands off her. She was tired a lot, but she tried to give him herself as much as she could. Faith wasn’t sure if she would try chemo again or not, and if she did, they would be having sex even less. Quite frankly, there would be days and nights where she wouldn’t even want him in the same room as her. But there would also be moments where she’d crave his embrace. “Keisha is expecting me.”

“I won’t take long. I promise.”

Faith’s eyes rolled as she squealed at the feel of his tongue slithering across her neck. There was no denying Sincere’s ability to make them both cum quickly. They were so in tune with one another’s body that he could make her cum in two minutes or less. Which said a lot about Sincere, because her previous rounds of chemo made sex more painful than pleasurable, but he always went above and beyond to make sure she was satisfied.

“Sincere,” she whispered, rocking her hips against him.

What started as her sitting down on the edge of the bed to put on her shoes turned into him placing her on his lap and circling her clit with his thumb.

“You want me to stop?” he asked, voice low and husky.

“No,” she confessed, pushing him down onto the bed.

She lifted, sitting down on his curved shaft. Her body shivered as she took every inch of him in. Starting a medium-paced ride, Faith kept her hands steady on his chest as their eyes remained locked on each other. When her cream began to pour, she leaned forward, taking him in deeper. The second his hands began to caress her body, it began to heat.

Connecting their lips, Faith continued to ride him as her orgasm built. It didn’t take long for either of them to cum, especially with her massaging his balls and him caressing her clit.

After taking a quick shower, Faith rushed out of their home to meet Keisha for their date.

The ride to the restaurant was a peaceful one. She even found herself smiling unintentionally a few times. There was something about knowing Sincere was willing to stand beside her no matter what she chose that made her feel empowered. And as she pulled into the parking lot of Seasons 52, Faith knew Keisha would give her the same support. If anyone understood the pain she’d experienced with her ex-husband, it was Keisha. It may take her some time to process the news her friend was about to give her, but when she did, Faith was sure she would understand.

Being the first to arrive, Faith checked in with the hostess and grabbed a drink at the bar while she waited for Keisha. It didn’t take her best friend long to arrive, and when she did, she joined Faith at the bar.

“Is our table ready?” Keisha asked after giving her a hug and sitting next to her.

“Yeah, now that you’re here.”

“Cool. Let’s go then.”

With a nod, Faith stood and headed back over to the hostess to let her know the last of her party had arrived. As they were escorted to their table, the friends complimented each other on their attire as they normally did. They made small talk about their days so far as they waited for their server to arrive. When she did, she took their drink and appetizer orders before leaving them alone.

Even though Faith thought it might be best to wait until the end of their dinner to tell Keisha the news, it was burning her up inside to hold it in. So far, Sincere was the only person who knew, and it had been driving her crazy not to tell her best friend.

“Have you talked to Sin lately?” Faith checked, wondering if he’d hinted at anything.

“Just our usual group chat with Pierre. Why, what’s up?”

Faith sighed and leaned forward in her seat. “I was trying to see if he’d told you the news.”
