And while it’s not uncommon to see famous people in clubs like this, I can’t say I’ve ever actually spoken to one, let alone had one speak to me. Then again, I also can’t say I’ve ever landed myself in the VIP section before either.

“Hi,” I squeak, trying to wrap my head around this freaking night.

“I was just telling your friend, Bonnie, that you two should join us.” He gestures to the room of people behind him. “Drinks are on me.”

“What do you think?” Bon looks at me with those big, chocolate, puppy dog eyes.

“Oh, what the hell.” I shrug, allowing Beckett to lead us further into the room.

I recognize one female, and two other guys, all actors, but none nearly as famous as our host, who is being weirdly attentive to me and Bonnie when there are plenty of other women vying for his attention.

Eventually, we end up sitting on a U-shaped couch that looks out to the main part of the club, with Bonnie on one side of Beckett and me on the other.

I reach for a flute of champagne before relaxing back onto the couch, my focus on the people on the dance floor, who are completely unaware that they’re being watched due to the one way glass separating us. I find it rather fascinating.

I open my mouth to say something, my gaze turning toward Beckett, but instantly I close it when I see he’s currently occupied, licking and sucking Bonnie’s neck while tracing his fingers up her inner thigh.

Okay, sothat’show this night is going to go.

Standing, I make my way closer to the large window, captivated by how it feels like I’m a part of everything on the other side yet completely cut off at the same time. It gives me the tiniest glimpse of how it feels to be on the opposite end of the spectrum.

“Why did you hang up on me?” Hot breath dances across the back of my neck and goosebumps instantly pepper my skin.

Treyton?

I sway, my voice catching in my throat when two hands settle firmly on each side of my hips.

“What are you doing here?” I don’t dare turn around.

“You called me,” he reminds me, pressing closer, his warmth swallowing me whole.

“I did?” I play stupid. Maybe if he thinks I’m so drunk that I don’t have any recollection of calling him, he won’t hold what I said or how I acted against me.

And while yes, I am drunk, I’m notthatdrunk.

“Don’t play coy with me, Hamilton. I heard what you said.”

“And what was that, exactly?” My breath hitches when I feel his thickness press against my backside.

“You were about to throw down over me.” I hear the humor in his voice, shivering when he sucks my earlobe into his mouth and works it gently between his teeth. “And here I thought you hated me.” He smiles. I can feel the action against my cheek seconds before he presses a kiss against my upper jaw.

“Who said I don’t?” My words jumble together which causes him to chuckle, the sound vibrating against me.

“You can play hard all you want, we both know the truth.”

I spin around to face him, only he doesn’t step back when I do, so our fronts our now pressed together. My hands land on his chest, drawing my attention to what he’s wearing.

“Why are you wearing a suit?” I run my fingers along the expensive material.

“Charity function.”

“Oh.” I nod slowly, looking up at him. “Let me guess, you told your date to find her own ride home.” Sarcasm drips from my words.

“I didn’t have a date.”

“And why’s that?” I pout out my bottom lip dramatically, being purposely petty. “Couldn’t find anyone that wanted to go with you?”

As if…
