“I guess that’s true. Though you’ve never actually told me how or why you sought me out,” I remind him. “What’s up with that?”

“You are the firstrealperson I’ve had in my life in a very long time. Maybe ever,” he continues like I didn’t even speak. “And I…”

“You can stop now. You’re going to get laid either way.” Heat once again creeps up my neck. I’m not usually so blunt. “I mean, unless you plan on stopping the car and making me walk home.”

“Ha. Ha,” he deadpans. “You’re never going to let that go, are you?”

“Considering it followed the first time we’d slept together, not likely.”

“Guess I’ll just have to give you something else to focus on other than your anger.” He scoots in, his hand settling above my knee before it slowly starts to move upward.

“I guess you will.” I lean in, pressing a kiss to his lips.

I don’t care that Nick’s in the car.

Hell, I don’t think I’d care if we had a full audience right now.

All I can think about is how incredible that night was. How he took my body to heights I never knew it could reach and how right now, I desperately want that again.

“My greedy girl.” He smiles against my mouth when I willingly spread my legs, giving him room to reach my center.

“Well, well, well. Look who finally made it home.” Bonnie is sitting upright on the couch when I step inside my condo, as if she’s purposely been waiting for me. “You know, it’s pretty bad when I have to find out from your famous boyfriend’s bodyguard that you’ve left for the night.”

“He’s not my boyfriend,” I groan, suffering from quite possibly the worst headache of my life.

“You could have at least texted,” she playfully scolds.

“My phone died.” I slip off my shoes before quickly collapsing down on the opposite end of the couch from her. “And last I checked, you were busy with a famous playboy of your own.”

“Oh girl, that man did things to my body… Let me just tell you.” She fans her face.

“Please don’t.” I press a palm to my forehead.

“Feeling a little hungover today?” she teases.

“A little? Try, I feel like someone put my entire body through a crushing machine,” I whine.

“Didn’t lover boy offer you any Tylenol before bringing you home?”

“No, because I snuck out while he was still asleep. Thankfully, Micah was coming in as I was going out and I pretty much forced him to give me a ride home.”

“What? Why?” She laughs.

“Because I’m mortified.” I drop my head into my hands. “You saw me last night, Bon. I was a hot freaking mess. I can’t even remember half of what I said to him last night, but I’m pretty sure none of it was good.”

“Tell me what you remember?”

“Please don’t make me. It’s bad enough that it’s swimming around in my head. I don’t want to have to say it out loud too. It’s too embarrassing.”

“It can’t bethatbad.” She laughs. “I mean, I rode a man’s dick like a bull rider last night after knowing him all of twenty minutes. How bad could it be?”

“I think I might have insinuated that I was falling for him,” I groan.

“What do you mean, youthinkyou insinuated?” She arches a perfectly shaped brow.

“Something about kryptonite and I said he was mine. God, I can’t even remember exactly what was said. But I remember this look he gave me. I can’t explain it but out of everything, it’s the one thing that I can see clear as day. He looked… I don’t know, fearful.”

“Maybe he’s afraid of how you make him feel.”
