“What time is it?” I ask, quickly slipping my clothes back on as he climbs out of bed and does the same.

“Just after five.” He tugs his shirt over his head and turns, helping me out of bed.

“Shit,” I mutter aloud. “What time is Brennon going to be home, do you know?”

“No idea.” He shrugs, following me out of the room.

“You mean to tell me he could have walked into the apartment at any time.” I turn around inside the bathroom door to face him.

“What can I say?” He shrugs. “I saw you in my bed and got tunnel vision.”

I lean forward, not able to resist the urge to press up onto my tiptoes and kiss him. He reciprocates wholeheartedly, wrapping his arms around my waist as he backs me into the bathroom.

I have to stop him before we get carried away again.

I’m not trying to push my luck here. Or maybe I am.

Hell, at this point I don’t know what I’m doing anymore.

“You need to get out and let me clean up,” I murmur against his mouth.

“What if I want to watch?” His expression turns mischievous.

“Out.” I pry myself out of his arms and push him out of the room, laughing when he objects the entire way.

I’m not inside for more than three or four minutes and when I come back out, Atlas is leaning against the kitchen counter talking to my brother, who clearly just got home.

I’m disappointed but at the same time relieved. I feel like I’m lost in an Atlas fog and the longer I’m submerged in the thick clouds, the harder it’s going to be to find my way out.

I never thought I’d be happy to see a free weekend come to an end, but I’m ready to get back to school and work and reestablish some sense of normalcy after three days that have felt anything but normal.
