“I want you all to myself, too.” I kiss her forehead.

“How are you with the whole money thing? Can you afford to quit?” she asks.

“Let’s escape so they still pay me for tonight. Then, I’ll be good. My contract is over, and I don’t have to renew.”

“Or, you could renew,” she says.

“I’m confused,” I say.

“As a member,” she replies.

“Member? I can’t afford–”

“I’ll pay. It’ll be a very nice gift for myself.”

“Me being a member here is a gift for you?” I ask.

“Definitely,” she says.

???

“I have no food. I’ve been gone for three weeks,” she says when we walk into her massive kitchen that looks brand new.

“We can order in,” I say.

“Whatever you want.”

“Whatever I want that delivers at two in the morning,” I say, rethinking it.

“I might have a frozen pizza,” she says.

“I’m game,” I reply. “Can I get the tour while it cooks?”

“Of course,” she says.

We put the pizza in the oven, then she takes me by the hand, and we start walking around the downstairs.

“So, you’ve seen the kitchen. There’s a formal dining room, which I never use. I have a living room, of course, and the informal dining room, too, which is where I usually eat. Do you want to see the backyard?”

“I want to see your bedroom,” I say, nibbling on her neck.

She laughs and says, “I think you’re going to like this, actually.”

She opens the door and pulls me through it.

“Grill, wet bar, very expensive and underutilized patio furniture, pool, and hot tub.”

“Holy shit, babe,” I say when I see it all. “That’s a waterfall.”

“And if you play your cards right, I’ll let you touch me under it,” she says.

I let go of her and take off all my clothes.

“Let’s go,” I say.

“What about the pizza?” she asks, as if I care about the stupid pizza right now.

“We’ve got time.” I reach out my hand to her.
