Jumping out of bed, I forget I'm still hooked up to the damn machines. I rip all the shit off and start walking out. Forget this. I don't know why I thought I could stand to be in the same room with this asshole. As I walk down the hallway, no one even questions me. I guess they don't recognize me awake and dressed, and that's fine with me. Passing the elevator, I opt for the stairs before anyone notices.
August is hot on my heels. "Where the fuck are you going, Mason?"
"I'm going to get Gigi, and you can stay here and figure out who the hell in your inner circle is fucking up your life and hers."
He pulls me back and slams me into the wall.
"I don't think you get it. I fucking love her. Stop fucking around and wasting time because your ego hurts from the reality I just hit you with."
I punch him in the face hard, and he spits blood. I'm not some little bitch who will roll over and take orders from him. I have just as much to lose if not more, if I fail her. Not to mention he deserved it.
"Now we're even prick."
Keeping my pace, I head downstairs until I'm outside. I didn't realize I didn't have a car in my haste to get out.Shit
August shoulders past me as he walks, calling out, "Let's go."
