"Let me go!" Blue yelled, his voice a little stronger. His anger took hold again, and he balled up his fists, hitting my chest with all his might. I let him hit me. I could have easily subdued him with a command, but he needed this.

Sometimes grief sits easier in your gut when your fists are sore.

"I am not going back," Blue snarled, his little, pointed teeth on display. I never found any amusement when an omega got worked up enough for their tiny fangs to engage. But on him, it looked enchanting.

"You are going back," Joon sighed, rubbing Tzidal's back and arms. Her face was buried in his chest, and the soft scent of tears pushed off her. Joon ran his hands through her hair, letting out a soft sigh. He looked like a mountain ready to crack, his mate's delicate emotions prying him apart, urging him to crumble. "We will take you back to your home," he said again.

"Why do you care? Just let me go!" Blue's eyes flashed, and his skin seemed to let off a hazy pulse of light. But it was so dim it might have been a trick of the sun.

The sun.

I looked up, noticing it edge closer to the trees. It was well past noon.

It was early morning just a few moments ago, and now it was past midday.

"How much time has passed?" Lex gasped, looking at the sky as well. "How did we lose half the day? Did we really travel that far?" he asked Tzidal. The omega shook her head as she twisted around in Joon's arms. Her face flushed with anger.

"This is very impressive magic." The siren shook his head in disbelief. "Unbelievable."

Tzidal took a step toward Blue. Her hands outstretched to hold him. I forced myself to let him go, watching carefully in case he ran again.

"We'll camp for a few days," Joon said to Blue. "Then we'll take you home. Hopefully, the guards will have cleared out by then."

Blue took a deep, pained breath, letting Tzidal hug him. "I have no home," he whispered, his bottom lip quivering. "I can never go back. I did this. I let them in."

"You don't have a choice," Joon said. I could see Tzidal cut him a glare, but she didn't rebuke him.

Blue's jaw clenched, and he took a deep breath. He looked fierce, even with tears still streaming down his face. "You have no idea where my village is or how to get back inside," he said, his voice quiet but still filled with a cutting, defiant edge. "I'm not going anywhere. You don't have a choice."

"Calm down," I snapped, unable to help it. If he didn't get his emotions under control, he was going to slip into complete distress, and we didn't have the resources to deal with catatonic omega. "You need to understand we are only trying to help you."

Blue's top lip curled slightly, flashing the tips of his fangs. My eyes went dark, and my fists clenched tight. My wolf didn't fucking care for his challenging glare, and the urge to spank his ass raw pulsed within me.

Oh, to see him bent over, flushed, and begging.

A rumbling growl pushed from my chest at the thought, and Blue slumped his shoulders as if trying to curl into himself.

"Byriel," Tzidal snipped softly. She smoothed her hands over Blue's shoulders and hair. "There's no need to be so angry. He's just upset. His village was just attacked. His pack is hurt."

I nodded, but I wasn't angry. The front of my pants were painfully tight, concealing my lengthening cock. Blue's defiant words and soft scent were fucking with my beast.

Blue needed to go home. He needed to be comforted by his family and properly grieve for his pack. But my disgusting wolf just wanted to strip him naked and pin him beneath me, make him beg for my mercy and my cock.

What the fuck was wrong with me?

"Just leave me," Blue whispered, pain replacing the rage in his eyes as he stepped away from Tzidal. She looked wounded at his retreat. "I can find my own way. I'm not a pup."

Tzidal placed her hands on his cheeks, keeping him in place. "Please, let us take you back home. Once we get there, Joon and I—"

He jerked to run again, but I was ready, pulling him flush against my chest, his small body hitting me in all the right places.

"Don't move!" I roared, unable to control my temper as lust started to override all reason.

Blue's lips trembled, and he froze up, his body struggling between the urge to lash out and the deep need to obey me. Regret lanced my chest, and I moved to guide him onto the ground, gently taking his hand.

I loved how pliant he was to my will, and I fucking hated myself even more for relishing it.

The hidden village was right to hide from all alphas. We were monsters.
