“Yeah. I’m ready for all of this to be over so we can move on with our lives. I’d like to be moved into our house before we leave next week.” I say, snuggling into his chest.

“We’ll start shopping tomorrow. Neither of us have anything to do until the club barbeque, which we have to go to, or our mothers will literally kill us.” I have no doubt they will. The mothers are terrifying when they band together.

“Don’t forget about Aliana. She’s an ol’ lady now. She’s part of the group.” I giggle.

“You’re an ol’ lady too. I just haven’t given you your property cut yet. I was going to give it to you at lunch, but by the time I remembered, I was halfway to the clubhouse. Then I was going to give it to you tonight when I picked you up, but you had a visitor. So, I’ll just give it to you now.” Wow. An ol’ lady. Me. He’s giving me the property patch in my parents’ driveway. Am I mad about that? Hell no! Reaper hands me the bag that he had in his hands. “The box wouldn’t fit in my saddle bag, so Ali put it in a gift bag.” I reach inside the bag and pull the leather out. “Ink said that when you’re ready to get your tattoo to let him know and he’ll do it.”

“I love it, Jackson.” It’s really nothing special to others, but to us ol’ ladies it is. It shows that our men are serious. It’s like a ring in the biker world. Not every member gets married, but most do after they give their woman the patch. It’s a leather jacket, but it’s not a full jacket it only goes to mid back. On the back it has the skull with devil horns and wings on the back with the club’s name and ‘Property of Reaper’ on the bottom. On the front, it has their motto, ‘Ride together. Fight together. Survive together.’ Jackson takes it from my hands and helps me put it on. The men always help place it the first time. Not exactly sure why, but I’m not complaining. It’s an amazing feeling. I turn around to face him and lean up to give him a kiss full of promises.

“As much as I’d love to continue this, we have an audience.” I turn around and see my mom and dad with big smiles on their faces, but my brothers have scowls on theirs. Show time.

I’d like to say that meeting Hannah’s family isn’t nerve wracking, but that’d be a lie. However, I’ve always been good at masking my true feelings. Not only am I meeting her parents for the first time, but I’m meeting with the fucking mafia don and his family! Meeting the parents is bad enough but add in the fact that her dad isthefucking mafia don of the US and her brother is next in line. I should be shitting down my leg, but I’m not. Thank God for small favors. If looks could kill, I’d be six feet under with the glares her brothers are sending me. At least I’m assuming they’re her brothers. They look exactly like her dad. Everyone knows what the Don looks like. He wants you to know so you know who not to mess with.

“Relax Jackson. You’re squeezing my hand so hard it may fall off from no circulation.” Okay, so maybe I’m not as good at hiding my nerves as I thought. I want them to like me because soon, we’ll be family if I have my way about it.

“Your brothers look like they want to kill me, I don’t think it’s fully registered with your father that you’re dating me, and your mother looks like she wants to run and smother us with affection.” The little witch laughs at me. “It’s not funny.” I pout. Yes, a grown ass man is pouting because his ol’ lady is laughing at him.

“Mom! Dad!” Hannah exclaims when we make it to the steps. It wasn’t a long walk, but I may have slowed her down a bit. What? He’s the fucking Mafia King! “Kai, Evan, Parker.” I step back while they say their hellos. “This is Reaper.” Everyone turns their attention towards me, and I wave. Way to go idiot.

“Hello. Pleasure to meet you all.”

“Is Reaper your real name?” Kai asks.

“No that’s my road name. My real name is Jackson Johnson.”

“Well, let’s get inside. Dinner is getting put on the table now.” Hannah’s mom says.

“That’s my mom, Chelsea. My dad’s name is Travis and you know my brothers’ names. Sierra is the youngest, but she’s not here obviously. She’s supposed to be on vacation with Blake. Which we both know isn’t true.” Hannah explains as we walk into the dining room.

“Don’t worry babe. We’ll get it all taken care of. It might not be before we go on our trip with the club, but it will be soon. That’s why Westyn wants a meet with your father and his heads. You’ve been family since the day you became friends with Ali. You becoming my ol’ lady just solidified it.” I tell her. I pull out her seat and take the spot next to her like Chelsea said to do. You don’t want to piss off the wife to the Mafia King.

“So, Jackson, I’ve heard things about your club and from what I hear, you’re on the up and up. For the most part anyway.” Travis says.

“Yeah. We have a safe haven for men, women, and children at a few different locations. We own a tattoo shop and a mechanic shop as well.” I inform him. I know he knows we sell guns, but that’s something we don’t discuss with outsiders, even if they are my ol’ ladies’ family.

“Does my daughter knoweverythingthe club has business in, or is it just the legal ones?”

“All the ol’ ladies know everything about the club. Legal and illegal. We would rather them be prepared in case something happens than to be caught off guard. We only keep things from them that will keep them safe. It’s a fine line we play, but we do what is necessary to protect our own.”

“I can respect that. In this family we are the same way. I’d rather they be prepared than to not be. Sometimes not being forthcoming with your loved one is the safer option.”

“I have to agree with you on that one sir. I’d do anything to make sure Hannah was safe. Even if that meant keeping something from her.” I peak over at Hannah, and she looks content. She’s got a small smile playing on her lips and it brings one to mine.

“I can see how happy you make my daughter. She’s stubborn like her father, but once you break through that she loves with the fierceness of a lion.” Mrs. Mason says. Just then, the wait staff bring out a delicious looking spread. “I hope you like pot roast.”

“One of my favorite meals. My mother has it every Sunday after church.” I reply.

“You go to church?” Kai questions. “I didn’t think bikers did that kind of thing.”

“The whole club goes. We’re a tight knit group. Our parents have always made us go to at least Sunday service growing up and we’ve been doing it ever since. We’re just like regular people. We have a strong bond and ride motorcycles, but it’s more than that. The club is one big family. Some not by blood, but by choice. If someone needs something, there’s ten or more people that will be there to lend a hand. We all bleed just the same. Just as you, just as your father, just as any human being.” I reply. I look into his eyes as I’m speaking and can see his respect for me grow from my answer.

“We’d love to meet your family sometime.” Chelsea says.

“They’re having a barbeque tomorrow evening at the clubhouse. You all should join us. I know the club would love to meet all of you as well. I’m pretty sure Westyn would like a meeting with you, Kai, and the rest of the inner circle.” Hannah adds. It’s not a bad idea. I know they wouldn’t mind. They may be a little intimidated being in the presence of the Mason family, but they’d love to have them.

“She’s right. You should all join us. We have one at least once a week, unless we’re busy with something, but we try to get the club together.”

“I haven’t seen Ali in a while! That man of hers is such a sweetheart. Overprotective Alpha, but so is Travis. I’m sure all the men are that way with their women. I’d love to meet them.” Mrs. Mason says.
