“It’s settled then. We’ll come around four so we can meet with your president and then we’ll get to know your family.” Mr. Mason replies. After that, our conversation flows smoothly, and dinner was amazing. After dinner, we make our way into their living room. It was spacious. This place is bigger than I would personally live in, but it’s like at the clubhouse, they have some of their men that live here as well. Mainly security, but still. I’d live in a house this big if it’s what Hannah wanted, but I’m glad she loves our two-story home. “So, tell me about this visit Blake made to your apartment. How did he get through all the locks I had installed and the security system?” Straight to the point. I like this guy.

“Your guess is as good as mine dad. I honestly don’t know how he did it. However, he’s not the only one that paid me a visit. Today, Sierra came by the clinic as I was closing things down. Made some threats, pulled out a gun, and tried to intimidate me into having you or Kai make Blake Kai’s second again. She’s not happy about him being demoted to low level.” Hannah explains.

“She should have thought about that before getting involved with him in the first place. She knew he was with you, and she still did it. She could have married into another family if she wanted status. Then she went and got pregnant by him and in this family if you get pregnant, you marry the father. She knows the rules. All of you kids know the rules. I will not be making Kai make Blake his second again. Kai has picked a new second anyways. I really want to know what is going through your sister’s head. You could have easily killed her before she got a shot off.” Mr. Mason ranted.

“We were in a standoff when Ali and Axyl arrived at the clinic. They’re planning something, I just don’t know what it is yet. I do know that it’s not going to be good. I can feel it in my gut.” Hannah says. I can see the worry in her eyes and the way her body is coiled like a snake ready to attack. I wrap my arm around her waist and bring her closer to my body. She relaxes a little, but not much, so I grab her and place her on my lap. I turn her face so she’s looking into my eyes.

“You are the strongest woman I know. I told you that I’d never let anything happen to you. You will never have to become her again. Let me take care of the reaping for you. I’ve got you princess. Let me shield you from the darkness that threatens to come. If anything happens to you, I’ll find you. Every single time. Come hell or high water, I’ll find you.” I bring her lips to mine and instantly get lost in her taste, her smell, just her. I feel the moment she relaxes completely, putting her trust in me. I pull back and look into her blue eyes. “Better?”

“Much. Thank you.” She pecks my lips and turns to face her family but doesn’t leave my lap. I run a soothing hand down her back before wrapping my arms around her and pulling her tighter to my chest.

“You know, when your mother and I first got together, I was the only one that could calm her when she got caught in her emotions like you. She would get lost to the dark part of herself and I would always be there to bring her back, just like Jackson did with you. I was there to bring you back as well, but now I can rest easy knowing that I won’t lose you to that darkness. That you have someone to bring you back to us. For that reason alone, I give you my blessing.” Travis says, looking directly in my eyes. A silent conversation going on. He’s not only giving me his blessing to date his daughter, but he’s also giving me his blessing to make her mine in every way possible.

“Blessing for what?” Hannah asks.

“Nothing you need to worry about right now dear.” Mrs. Mason says.

“Now, let’s get back to the reason you’re here. Other than to see your family of course.” We take the next few hours explaining everything that happened with Blake and Sierra, answering any questions they might have, and going over what we could do. “So, we meet up with the rest of your men tomorrow around four o’clock and nail down the introductions and start on a plan. I’ll try and get in contact with Sierra and see what she reveals to me, which may not be much. They think that, to our knowledge, they’re away on vacation. We’ll have to bring Wendy with us. Would that be okay?”

“Of course. I’m sure the other kids would like someone new to play with. They only have each other ninety-nine percent of the time.” I reply.

“Then it’s a plan. We’ll see you tomorrow.” We stand up and say our goodbyes and head out to the SUV.

“Let’s get home and get you some sleep my love. We have full day tomorrow.”

I thought having Reaper meet my family would be nerve wracking, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I didn’t expect my dad to be as calm as he was when he found out that I was dating someone after the last time. He and Reaper hit it off and when Reaper calmed me down, that solidified my dad’s respect and trust in him. After we left my parents’ house, we went back to my apartment and spent the entire night wrapped in each other’s arms.

Sometimes I wonder if I made a mistake with waiting so long to accept what was between us, but then I know it wasn’t because we wouldn’t have been the people we are today. I was still healing from Blake, and I wasn’t ready to give myself to someone fully back then. If we would have started an actual relationship then, I don’t think we would have lasted long.

Waking up in Jackson’s arms is the way I want to wake up every day for the rest of my life. Which I’ll get to do because he made me his ol’ lady and I couldn’t be happier with who I’m with. “Good morning beautiful.” I turn my face, so my eyes are looking into the green depths of Jackson’s.

“Good morning my love.” He leans in and places a sweet kiss on my lips. The way my body lights up when he touches me is nothing compared to how it feels when his lips meet mine. It’s like sticking your hand on a live wire and that feeling being amplified. It’s the most addicting high and I can’t get enough of the feeling.

“We need to get up and get ready so we can go shopping for the new house. Then it’s the barbeque at the clubhouse. We just added heating to the barbeque area.” I chuckle and peck his lips before hopping out of bed and into the bathroom. I start the water to the shower and turn to the sink to brush my teeth while I wait for the water to warm up. Once the water is warm, I strip out of my clothes and step under the spray. A few minutes later, the shower curtain is moved and Reaper steps in. He wraps his arms around my waist, and I lean back into him. Such an amazing man. This rough and tough biker is just a big ol’ teddy bear unless he needs to be otherwise.

After a longer than normal shower, we are on our way to get things for our new home. We’re starting at the local furniture store and then we’ll go from there. I’m excited to experience this with Jackson. I wouldn’t want to experience it with anyone else. I don’t think he knows what he got into when he decided to come shopping with me. Axyl came once, and he hasn’t been with us girls shopping since. “Are you sure you want to come with? You don’t know how much I can shop. I can see if Ali will meet up with me instead.”

“It’s our home. Axyl has told me the horror story of his time with you and Ali shopping. I think I can handle it. I want to help make decisions. I don’t care how you decorate it, I just care about helping with the main furniture.” He says as we pull up in front of the store.

“Okay. I was just asking. I love you, Jackson.”

“I love you too baby girl. Now, let’s get this done so we can go eat.” That’s Jackson, always thinking with his stomach. He gets out of the car and comes to my side and helps me out. We spend the rest of the day shopping for furniture for the house, along with the décor, and I do believe we have everything picked out. It’s too much to take back in Jackson’s truck so we just had most of it delivered. It’ll be there tomorrow, so we should be able to move in tomorrow night or the next morning. I can’t wait.

“It’s almost four. Are we just going to the clubhouse?” I ask Jackson.

“Yeah. We don’t have time to stop by the house to drop this stuff off before your family shows up.”

“We can do it tonight or in the morning. Depends on how much you decide to drink.” I tease.

“More like how much you and Tiffany drink.” Tiffany is Ali an I’s other friend from college. Since Ali can’t drink, she’s turned into my drinking partner. Tiff has been to a few of our club parties, and the men love her. She’s been trying to get Ink to make her his ol’ lady, but Ink isn’t the one that will do that. He’s going through his own shit and he doesn’t want to settle down just yet. Hopefully he will one day soon. Out of everyone in this club, he deserves it the most. Jackson has told me a little bit about Ink’s upbringing, but he hasn’t told me a lot because it’s not his story to tell. I don’t push because if he wants people to know, he’ll tell them.

“Well, it has been a while.” I point out.

“It’s been three months Hannah. Not two years.” He retorts.

“Same difference.” I retort. Three months is a long time going without a drink. Especially when you have shit hitting the fan all around you. I just want to cut loose and forget about it all. At least for a little while.

“Oh, trust me, it isn’t. You haven’t seen her doing things to the club girls’ stuff in over a year have you?” Ever since a fight about one of the club whores caused two of the prospects to lose focus on making sure Ali was safe, she’s been holding a mean grudge since Ali almost lost the twins when Alex and his men attacked while everyone was distracted. Now that I think about it, I haven’t heard any whining about stuff being messed with since the guys figured out it was Tiff doing it with the help of Ali. I may or may not have helped, but I’ll never tell.
