Alex didn't go back to teaching, but I did. I found myself pretty interested in educating talented students, and one of them won a European championship last year. I'm kind of becoming a successful swimming coach.

Alex's career changed its direction. After writing that first book about becoming a successful athlete, leaving everything because of a tragedy, and then finding the strength to come back, Alex became a bestselling author, whose book was on the New York Times bestseller list for twelve weeks. After that, Oprah Magazine declared his book as the best motivational one of the year.

Alex wrote three more books after that one, and each of them became a bestseller. He dedicates all of his books to our kids and me. He says that his family is his most precious achievement.

I don’t regret that I didn't win Olympic gold. I mean, I have three kids, a husband who loves me, and a house near the ocean. It is located right on the beach, not on a cliff.

I don't need to jump from the rocks anymore when I'm sad or angry. Because now I know that there are people who genuinely care about me.

Today is my birthday. I'm going to be thirty years old in a couple of hours. I asked both our parents to visit us and baked a pie. We wanted to announce to them our little secret that we're expecting another baby, and this time, finally, after three sons, it's going to be a girl. Alex jokes that he's going to be the coach of our tiny boys’ swim team.

I love my life, and I wouldn't change anything in it, even for all the gold medals in the world.
