Following Dixon’s gaze to two waitresses who were having some words together, Payton asked, “Which people? The ones you just bought from?”

They were not able to hear the waitresses, but from the body positions and the hand gestures it looked like they were having a little spat about something. Maybe it was about tips? Or a boy? Probably a boy; it always seemed to be about men.

Taking his silence as a yes to her question she replied, “Maybe China? I can’t recall if that was it or if I am just making it up. Did you want me to try and find out?”

“No, it’s okay. I was just curious.”

“What do you think they are discussing?” Payton pointed to the two young waitresses.

“Someone was probably placed in her section when they should have been placed elsewhere.”

“Hmm.” Taking a sip of her wine, she finished her sentence. “That would be the hostess’ error. I bet they are involved in a love triangle and they just found out about it.”

Dixon looked at her and gave her his incredibly good-looking smile. “That has its possibilities.”

Having lunch was beginning to be a regular thing for the two of them. It seemed that the more they got together, whether for real estate, lunch or randomly seeing each other, the closer they grew. Today, for example, the space in between them was almost nil as they sat in a large circular booth. They could have easily sat across from each other, but instead they sat close together in the center of the booth. Payton loved that she was able to get a whiff of his cologne every now and then from his exaggerated gestures.

On the speakers a Nickleback song came on and Payton began to shoulder dance, as she liked to call it. It always started with little shoulder shrugs and then she’d move them up and down in a rhythmic motion. She’d follow through with her arms flowing naturally with her shoulders, and lastly, she’d move her hands around as well. Every now and again, Payton would also include a little head bopping. She felt so comfortable with Dixon that quite regularly she would drop her shield and let the little nerd in her shine. The two shared a plate of nachos as Payton playfully shoulder danced to keep Dixon’s attention.

Payton was so distracted with dancing that the sour cream on her nacho went sailing through the air and hit Dixon on the side of his head, covering a small section of his hair.

Laughing, Payton was hardly able to get out the words. “Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!”

“The least you could do is get it out.” Dixon was not as irritated as he may have thought he would be at the situation.

“Okay!” Still laughing, Payton took her napkin and dipped it into his water glass. She purposely chose his water instead of hers because it allowed her to lean slightly over Dixon, forcing him to sense her presence and smell the lust that could be theirs to make. Her breasts were eye level with his face and she hoped that he might take a glance.

Delicately, Payton began to pat the area where the sour cream was splattered, keeping her body touching his and her breasts beside his cheek. They were so close that all Dixon had to do was turn and he would have been able to motorboat her. This thought made her laugh as she wiped off the final remains of any unwanted sour cream.

“Mr. Taylor.” Interrupting her little moment was Jack Hewitt, standing right in front of them. “Payton.”

Dixon cleared his throat awkwardly and Payton turned to face Jack, putting a little bit of distance between them while responding. “Jack,” Payton said, unable to hide her irritation at being interrupted.

Jack’s hand was already extended. Having to lean over the table, Dixon met the hand with a firm shake. To reciprocate, Jack ensured that his grip was a tad too hard as he firmly shook.

“A congratulations is in order,” Jack replied, keeping his eyes on Payton. “Yet another great investment for you. I hope we can do business together again soon.” Jack felt a knot of jealousy in his stomach when he spoke. How could that whore be trying to get in someone else’s pants when he just fucked the brains out of her a day before.

“Thank you.” Dixon was trying to be polite, but something about Jack put him in a foul mood. “As for doing business again, you will have to ask my dear Payton here.” He gestured to her. “She is the brain of my operation.”

Brain of the operation. Ha!She whored herself out. But instead of saying all of this, Jack simply mentioned, “It’s amazing what some sexy ass can do. She does a bang-up job.” Then stepping away, he tipped his head and left.

Dixon was unsure what to make of Jack’s comments.

“Well that was rude and odd all at the same time.” Payton had no idea what else to say. She was going to tear Jack a new asshole. How dare he talk to her in front of her client that way. “I will not be sending any business his way if I can manage it.” Payton took a gulp of her wine in an attempt to relax from the implication of Jack’s comment.

Trying to take the negative air from Jack’s interruption, Dixon casually said, “My friend just told me about this new app on his phone. It’s called ‘find friend’. It’s a GPS locator. Want to know where I am at all times?”

“Sure,” Payton replied, not even really thinking about it. It sounded like fun. She could know his whereabouts any moment she wanted. It sounded like a win-win for her. Forgetting Jack’s interruption, she and Dixon were back to their regular selves.

Lilly was fumingon the inside while she walked to the nearest Starbucks. Go fetch some coffee! Who does he think he is?She didn’t need a break. Mr. Bigot, the big shot! She continued to pout to herself along the way, kicking a stone, sending it into traffic.

The air was cooler than normal for a summer day. Gusts of wind forced Lilly to keep her hands by her sides to ensure her skirt would not blow up around her. As she looked into the sky, half was covered in grey clouds while the other half was a nice ocean blue.

“Jack!” Lilly reached out to touch his shoulder as they were passing. She was amazed she even noticed him in her self-pitying mindset.

Jack still had knots in his stomach from his encounter with Payton. Although, once he saw Lilly the knots disappeared and a smug grin spread across his face. “Lilly!” Jack swept up Lilly and gave her a hard kiss on the lips.

Forgetting about the wind, she put her arms around his neck, allowing the wind to fling her skirt every which way. This was a pleasant surprise in her stressed-out day.

But before she could say it, Jack spoke first. “What a nice surprise! It seems like I haven’t seen you in forever.” Affectionately, Jack touched Lilly’s hair and gave her another kiss while he spoke. He enjoyed the fact that he was having sex with both of the O’Neal sisters.

“I want to cook you dinner tonight at my place, eight o’clock.” Jack grabbed Lilly’s bottom playfully and left without allowing time for Lilly to respond.
