We manage to find the doorway and enter the room right behind the others. Corbin lets go of my hand and I squint into the fog, trying to count the shapes. “Is everyone here?”

I hear mumbled words and see a blue glow outlining two of my mates. Corbin and Damon are casting something.

A second later, the fog clears.

Liam runs to the door and turns the lock.

I glance around and make sure we’re all here. “Is everyone safe? Anyone hurt?”

“We’re okay, Harper, what about you?” Sadie asks.

“I’m fine,” I say. “But this has to end. We tried everything else.”

I walk over to Adrian. “It’s time. Please, take my magic. I want it gone. It can’t go to him.”

“It can’t go to him either,” Liam says. “I’m sorry but you know my father will exploit it somehow if you’ve got it.”

“He can’t exploit it anymore,” I say. “You took away his throne. We just have to get rid of my magic before he gets a hold of it. It’ll buy us the time for your aunt to arrive.”

“What about all of us?” Corbin says.

I turn to him. “All of you?”

“Yes,” Corbin says. “You have four mates. If we all share your magic, none of us has too much power.”

“What does that mean for Harper?” Sadie asks. “What happens to her when her magic is bound four ways?”

“Actually, that’s a great idea,” Adrian says. “When magic is bound, there is an element of control given. But it wouldn’t be as strong if it’s divided. It should give Harper more freedom and more access to her own magic.”

“What if one of you calls it?” Sadie asks.

“She’d have to give some,” Adrian says. “It’s not ideal.”

“I’m willing to do it,” I say. “I trust all of you.”

“Sadie, can you keep that door sealed for us?” Adrian asks.

Sadie nods then walks over to the door.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Corbin asks.

“Yes,” I say. We’ve exhausted all our other options and we can’t let the king gain my magic.

“Harper,” Adrian says. “You stand here. Everyone else, around her.”

My mates surround me and I can already feel the buzz of their magic flowing through me. It’s intoxicating. So much power. So much magic available for me to channel. I’ve never felt more than one person’s magic flowing through me at a time and suddenly, all of their magic weaves together with mine.

“What’s happening?” Liam asks.

“I don’t know,” Adrian says. “I didn’t start the spell.”

“It’s our bond,” Corbin says.

“I can feel all of your magic,” I say.

“We’re not taking hers,” Damon says. “Her magic is taking ours.”

“That’s not what I want,” I say.
