It did not.

Before falling asleep, I found myself stroking my still hard dick, imagining Peach and Simon, all three of us together and naked. I came so fast that I almost worried something was wrong. It was my ultimate fantasy, though, and one I’d denied envisioning for fear of being too tempted or disappointed when I couldn’t have it.

Sated, I fell into a deep sleep, my dreams happy for once.

* * *

The morning lightcrept through the window, blinding me as the sun rose. Squinting, I threw an arm across my eyes before rolling over on my side. The nightstand was directly in front of me, my phone charging on it. Reaching out, I pulled it to me, unhooking the cord as I fumbled with it, my eyes remaining closed.

Pulling it close, I saw there was a message I’d missed last night before I’d called my brother.

Bro: Battery almost dead. Will call when in the city.

Not caring, I pressed the call button, but it went straight to voicemail again. Groaning, I tossed it onto the bed, the device offending me with it’s inability to give me the answers I wanted. For the first time, I wished I had one of those smartphones so I could track his ass down. Maybe I’d go get one today and get Si and Peach off my case. It wouldn’t hurt to upgrade anyway, and perhaps now I could keep real pictures of Lennox on my phone. The desire to have access to her at all times surged through me so fiercely, I sat up, knowing I needed to make this happen.

Having my Peach in my life meant broadening my horizons, especially if the payoff was more of her. I didn’t think she quite understood my obsession with her yet, how savagely I loved her, but she would. There hadn’t been a day since Nox came into my life that I hadn’t thought about her in some shape or form.

Taking a shower, I got ready for the day, the determination from the night before still coursing through me to make this the future I wanted to happen. The fantasy I’d had before bed started to filter back in, and I smiled, the sensual scene had felt so tangible, and I’d been filled with happiness imagining the two of them. It only confirmed my feelings.

I wanted them both, and I wouldn’t stop until I had them.

I’d never liked school, but I’d learned to work hard, and owning two tattoo parlors might not seem like a lot for some, but at the age of twenty-eight, it felt significant to me. My father had given me my college fund to use as a down payment once I’d completed an apprenticeship. He’d given in to the fact I wasn’t going to school and had told me I could use it for whatever made me passionate as long as I showed him commitment.

It had been the best conversation we’d ever had, and for the first time in my life, I felt seen by my father. He wasn’t trying to make me into my brother but had accepted me as my own person. He’d even come and visited the shops, impressed with what I’d grown. It had taught me I could be successful in things I felt motivated by, that I could work hard and earn recognition. Motivation had been something I’d lacked in school, but once I discovered it in myself, my whole perspective changed.

Obviously, my demons still plagued me, or I wouldn’t have believed I wasn’t worthy of love, frozen in my fear and belief I wasn’t good enough for three years, punishing myself for a night I’d wish had ended differently.

THE REST OF THAT NIGHT

“Starry Nox?”

The beautiful girl, who’d stolen my heart in the few moments we’d spoken, concentrated on saying something, but when she opened her mouth, vomit spewed out, hitting me, the putrid smell filling the cramped hallway. A door sounded, and I stood, a scowl on my face as I tried to shake the puke off my hand.

“Fucking gross,” I muttered. Lifting my eyes, I was surprised when they landed on my brother. He froze, a cup of water and paper towels in his hands.

“What the fuck are you doing here, Thane?”

Scowling deeper, I grabbed some of the towels out of his hand, wiping my hands clean. Looking down, I realized it had gotten on my clothes and shoes. Fucking great. I’d worn my favorites, wanting to impress Nox, who was supposedly the passed out girl on the floor.

When Thane hadn’t replied, I peered up at him, finding his face still stuck on that expression as he gaped at me. I heard the liar on the ground mumble something, Thane’s eyes finally moving to look at her, but I was past the point of caring what the hell this shit show was. Pulling Thane into the men’s bathroom, I washed my hands and then wetted more paper towels, attempting to wipe it free of my clothes as best I could.

“Thane. Start. Talking.”

“I uh, it’s not what it looks like.”

“And what does it look like? Hmm? Enlighten me, please.”

“That I’m trying to take advantage of a drunk girl.”

Tossing the useless paper towels into the trash can, I spun, bracing myself against the sink, and crossed my arms. Staring intensely, I waited to see if he’d say more.

“I promise, I just came across her in the hallway. Some guy was assaulting her, so I stepped in to help.”

I knew this part, having watched it, but I was curious if he knewwhoshe was. “So you decided to help some random stranger?”

“Well,” he hedged, then deflated. “I know who she is. I met her a few years back, but then we lost touch. I was coming out of the restroom when I stumbled upon the scene and stepped in. You have to know I would never take advantage of a girl like that.”

I watched him and realized he was telling the truth about this, but I wasn’t sure how far it extended. Rubbing my chin, I debated what to say.Howhad he met her exactly? Was he in on her whole catfish scheme? Had they devised this plan together to hurt me? Or had she chosen him over me like so many others had? Was he the one Nox had been dating, and things were getting serious? So many thoughts swirled in my head, the alcohol adding to the disorientation, making them chaotic.
