“Harlow, we have only known each other a short amount of time beyond friends,” I said as her giggle hit the air. “I love you and I can’t be without you.”

The tears in our eyes mirrored one another, as she echoed, “I love you, too, baby.”

Our mouths collided as the heat intensified between us. Without knowing how much time we had before being disturbed, I tapped her arse and told her to pack a bag for a few days whilst I told Johnny.

Enemies to lovers, I had never expected to find the love of my life. Especially my best friend's sister. Fate played a hand in which I was grateful to receive, sending her back to me in Eastward.

“I was so glad I spent that time alone with you.”

Epilogue

Harlow – 6 months later

The past sixmonths had flown by, Elijah and I had talks about making sure I kept my mobile phone charged. He even nagged about grabbing a power bank, just to be safe. He was only being wary after my night terror attack. Sweet, really, even if it did grind on my nerves after a while. Johnny quite happily enjoyed ganging up with him on that point making sure my safety was a priority. It felt like normality had returned in some ways with the pair of them taking charge of any concerns they had to protect me. The constant nags about if I had decided how I wanted to use my inheritance yet, had been the question on the tip of Johnny’s tongue, but I was happy at the moment. Eventually we wanted to use our nest eggs, maybe a joint adventure but where was the rush in the decision?

The air was cleared rapidly after he discovered how Johnny found out about the pair of us. With a few jokes between the two of them, their relationship seemed on the way back to normal. Johnny had panicked he would lose us both, but it had strengthened our relationship. The three of us spent time together at the snooker hall and it had become a favourite venue. I was thankful Kev hadn’t mentioned his previous meeting with Elijah and I...

Johnny had talked to Elijah over his hurt finally, and we had rectified the issues between us all. I knew he had started to make amends with the pain he was experiencing with Elijah by taking on more of the business opportunities. Johnny had decided to start travelling to Belgium more over the last few weeks, concentrating on himself for the first time ever. I hadn’t pried. It was Johnny’s business if he wanted to talk to me about it. Most of his conversations were focused on Ria, and I was glad he was taking steps for his future, finally realising that I was able to stand on my own two feet.

As a couple, Elijah and I had gone from strength to strength. It hadn’t meant Johnny was forgotten, though, as he was a prominent fixture linking the two of us. It just made sense for us to lead our own lives, too. I moved in with him shortly after he declared his love, of which I returned, and things had been smoother. Eastward may have been a place of hurtful memories in the past, but I was glad Shelley sold Escape and I came back to my roots. Elijah had always been there for me, but now he owned my heart for evermore.
