“I’m going to ask you one more time to get up and walk your pretty little ass over to our table.”

I sighed deeply before I answered. “No need,” I hissed through my teeth, and then I picked up the Coke that I’d gotten him, and I splashed it all over his face so he was dripping wet with the sticky sweet soda.

He immediately let go of my throat, and I used his momentary distraction to leap from my seat and start running towards the exit.

“Come on, Jenna,” I yelled, a hysterical giggle slipping out, because fuck, had I really just done that?

She had obviously read my mind, or she’d correctly predicted that Cain was most likely going to try and kill me, because she was behind me in a second.

We burst through the doors into the night air, aware that the room behind us had gone completely quiet.

“I can’t believe you just did that,” she crowed, a manic smile on her face.

She obviously hadn’t heard that I’d burned a million-dollar car and damaged a bunch of others.

I was obviously capable of a whole lot of crazy.

“He’s going to come after you,” Jenna told me, a hint of fear in her voice.

I just smiled wickedly back at her. “I can’t wait.”

Chapter5

Aurora

It had been quiet, too quiet. I'd expected immediate payback after that cafeteria scene, but so far there'd been nothing. I hadn’t even seen any of the guys over the last two days.

I was on edge, half-expecting Cain to appear around the corner with a chainsaw at any moment. I was hovering outside of the dining room, wondering if I could sneak in and grab something to eat from the kitchens without having to sit at the table with them. All of a sudden, I felt a hand on my back. I jumped and swung around. It took a lot to creep up on me. But obviously, Remington had ninja-like skills because I hadn’t heard him walking at all.

I wondered where he’d learned that skill.

And why.

“Princess, what are you doing out here? Plotting your next world domination plan?" Remington asked silkily. One of his hands had slid to my hip, and his thumb was making my brain go numb as it stroked the skin in between my shirt and my jeans. It took far longer than I wanted to admit to pull myself away. And, of course, the asshole just smirked at me knowingly.

"I was about to go in. Correction, I was about to figure out a way to go in without sitting next to any of you," I answered sarcastically.

He hummed and put his hand back on my lower back and pushed me around the corner and through the door. I sighed when I saw that the other fools were sitting at the table already. None of them looked up when I entered. Remington kept his hand on my back all the way to the table, and I was sincerely regretting my choice of a crop top today because it felt like the heat of his hand was branding my skin.

"Make sure not to give her anything to drink," drawled Cain, and I flashed my teeth at him, thrilled that days later he was still thinking about it.

One of the staff came out carrying trays of food, and I grimaced when a bowl of bran flakes was set in front of me.

"Sorry, do you have any eggs…" My voice trailed off as she ignored me and practically sprinted back to the kitchen.

The guys were all suspiciously talking about Paxton's fight tonight, none of them paying attention to me. I noticed thattheirfavorite breakfast foods were set out in front of them. Just like normal.

Evidently, this was the next stage of their plan.

Sighing, I grabbed my spoon and put a tiny bit of the cereal on it, and reluctantly brought it up to my mouth.

I immediately gagged as soon as I tasted it. Not only was it bran flakes, but instead of regular milk, they had put buttermilk in it. Buttermilk.

"Enjoying breakfast?" asked Paxton, an evil little grin on his perfect face that made me want to punch him and ruin the image.

I schooled my face and scooped up another large bite, holding his gaze as I forced myself to chew it.

This was Stellan's doing. Without a doubt.
