“Since I’m hungry, I won’t forget that warning. But your mother seems so sweet. And you look very…nervous. That’s not like you. Are you sorry you invited us?” she asked.

“God, no. It’s not about you, or your parents. It’s my mother. She is such a smooth operator that I swear she could be used as a secret weapon for the government. Somehow, she can get information from a person, and they never even realize they opened their mouth.”

Joyelle giggled. “Sounds like she’ll get along great with my mother, then. Why do you think I never mentioned anything about you?”

“Yeah, I was a bit surprised by that.” I could relate. If I had my way, I’d have kept Joyelle to myself a while longer. Now since my mother new of her existence, I was positive she’d be reaching out to Joyelle and trying to involve her in the family more and more. That wasn’t a bad thing, but Joyelle and I hadn’t even discussed our future. I didn’t want it being influenced or manipulated in any way by my mother.

“It was because I wasn’t ready for the third degree. But now you can relax. We have all our parents here. Whatever secrets we think we have will soon be revealed for sure,” she chuckled. “And if you doubt that, look at our mothers have distanced themselves from the others. It’s never a good sign when you see them standing alone in deep conversation. We’re either in serious trouble, or they’re…”

“Naming our future children,” I offered. I took her hand with the intention of bringing her to meet everyone, but instead I guided her back into the house.

“Where are we going?” she asked.

I pulled her into my arms and kissed her. At first, she pushed me away very gently, but soon she was holding me tight and matching my level of passion.

When I released her, she said, “Was that to calm my nerves?”

“No. That’s to give you something to look forward to tonight. Do you have to return to Cranston with your parents?”

“Are you asking me to spend the night in Boston with you?” she asked. I nodded. “I don’t have a change of clothes.”

“You won’t need any tonight,” I winked and gave her a light rap on her ass.

“Oh… How can I turn down an offer like that?” she said, kissing me again, this time biting my bottom lip.

My cock was reacting to her, and I needed to cool things down fast or I’d be carrying her to the car and abandoning brunch immediately. I wouldn’t care, but out of respect for her parents, I chose not to.

“You’re playing with fire,” I warned.

In a seductive tone she replied, “I was just giving you a taste of tonight’s menu.”

“If we don’t rush back right now, your parents are going to hate me,” I warned.

Before I could even let her go, Clark entered the house. “Having your own little party in here?” he teased. I shot him a warning glance, but he ignored it. “Let me guess –you invited Lizzy and she’s talking their ears off out there?”

Joyelle laughed. “It’s worse than that. I brought my parents.”

Clarks eyes widened and he said, “You’re serious, aren’t you?”

I nodded.

“Well, now I know why you two are in here. Do you want me to make an excuse for you so you can make a run for it?”

I was so tempted to take him up on his offer, but said, “No. We were just heading back out. But if you want, I’m sure we can send the chopper and pick up Lizzy if you’re missing her.”

“Fine. I get it. I’ll be on my best behavior,” Clark said.

“Hey, she’s not that bad!” Joyelle said with a laugh. “She’s the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. Just a bit…”

“Clueless?” Clark stated, interrupting Joyelle.

Joyelle turned to me and said, “I think we should have a dinner party and invite Clark and Lizzy. What do you think?”

Richard laughed. “I think we should see if we survive brunch before we plan our next gathering. But I do think dinner sounds good.”

Clark didn’t follow us as we went back outside. He was probably reconsidering if he wanted to leave brunch and send his regrets later. I wouldn’t blame him one bit, but our mother would have his hide for missing two weeks in a row. Eventually, he made his way out to the group, but kept his distance from us.

The ladies came over and stole Joyelle away. They were all huddled in a circle, and I could tell they were asking her a bunch of questions. I turned to my brother Kenneth and said, “I didn’t see this coming.”
