“Really?” I couldn’t believe we’d been together since five. How was it that the time flew when I was with Clark? “Sorry. I guess we lost track of time.”
“So I see. Call me in the morning, I mean, later in the morning.”
“I will, and sorry about waking you up,” I said.
“Never be sorry. I like knowing you’re okay. And so does Joey.”
“Tell her I want to meet this guy,” I heard Joey demand in the background.
“I’ll bring him around once we’ve been together for a while,” I said.
“From what Crystal said, you two are pretty friendly already.”
I hope she also told you that I’m not pregnant, either.
“I’ll see you when I get back,” I said. “Good night, you two.”
I ended the call and headed back to Clark. The band was packing up and Clark was paying the bill.
“You ready to get out of here?” he asked.
“I’m ready to be back in your arms,” I said. “And I’m not talking about dancing,” I added in a whisper.
Clark leaned over and replied, “And I can’t wait to see what you have hidden underneath that sexy dress of yours.”
“Hope you won’t be disappointed, but it’s not red.” I wasn’t wearing a bra, but I did have on a black thong.
He gave me a wicked grin and said, “Whatever it is, it won’t be on long.”
The heat flooded through me with anticipation of another beautiful night of love making. I had even packed a flavored condom in my purse. You’re not the only one with something special planned for tonight.
He led me out of the restaurant and soon we were in our hotel room, making our own sweet music.
