"And I've been worried that you'll change yours." He smiled at me sweetly. "See, I told you it was stupid."
"Very, very stupid," I agreed, bending to taste his lips. "But it still got me a whole night alone with you. No more worries?"
"I can't promise that."
So I palmed the side of his face. "No more keeping it to yourself?"
"Mm." He leaned in to kiss me again. "I swear on my god's name."
I caressed the side of his face, then flicked a finger at his plate, reminding him that he hadn't finished. "And so you know, I kinda like it when you let me see the imperfections."
"I'm trying," he assured me as he made his way back around. "If it means more date nights, I might even try harder."
I let my gaze get lost in the perfection of his beautiful blue eyes. "That's a temptation I can't refuse."
