“Technically, we were first together at your uncle’s house,” Wilder corrected.

“Why?Why do you do that?” Avery cried. “Plus, that wasn’t a full sexual experience.Thiswas the first place where we had wild, passionate sex.”

“True,” Wilder replied, leaning in to kiss Avery.

Avery wrapped his arms around Wilder’s neck, seeking more connection. More touch. More skin. He undid Wilder’s tie and then started unbuttoning the line up his chest. After pulling the hem from the waistband of his mate’s slacks, he spread the sides wide, exposing a chiseled, gorgeous chest and abs. “My, my, you’re pretty.”

“Not as pretty as you,” Wilder murmured, stealing another kiss.

“Pretty? When I’m as big as a whale?”

“I told you this is an aphrodisiac. What part of that didn’t you understand?” Wilder took a half step back. “You’re gorgeous.”

Avery scoffed.

Wilder lifted his chin. “Youare breathtaking. Full and round with our baby… you’re the most beautiful thing I’veeverseen. I’m awestruck every single time I look at you and know you’re creating a life… a life we made together.”

Avery fought back the sting of tears. “Stop it… you’re going to make me cry. Damn these pregnancy hormones!”

Wilder caressed the side of Avery’s face. “I’ll stop… as long as you know that you’re more stunning right now than the first time I laid eyes on you.” A shine came into his alpha’s eyes. “I… I love youso very much.”

Avery struggled with the emotion, fat tears hanging on his eyelashes. “You’re not being fair.”

Wilder lifted his hand to brush away a tear that escaped. “All’s fair in love and war.” He smiled. “I’ll do anything for you to know how wanted and adored you are.”

“You say you’re the lucky one, but we both know I am.”

Wilder frowned. “How so?”

“You’ve allowed me so much latitude… supported me when it could’ve meant…” Another tear ran down Avery’s cheek, soon caught and wiped away by Wilder. “You stood to losesomuch. Yet you did it. Without complaint. Without making me feel as if I owed you anything. The only thing you’ve given is love. Unconditional love and I’m truly blessed to share in it.” He smiled a watery smile. “I love you, Wilder Jaymes. With my whole heart and then some.”

Wilder smiled, holding Avery’s face. He lowered, pressing his lips gently to Avery’s. The languid kiss gradually turned smoldering, singeing every nerve ending in Avery’s body. Wilder peeled off Avery’s clothing, piece by piece, before doing the same himself. Soon, they came together, more than ready to share one another’s bodies.

On the same table they’d probably conceived their child, Wilder made mad, passionate love to Avery, drinking in his cries and driving him insane. Slow thrusts eventually turned into frenzied ones, their cries contained by kisses. Avery came hard, as promised, screaming his release into the side of Wilder’s neck. His mate came soon after, emptying a load deep.

When they could breathe again, they dressed and escaped into the late spring day and didn’t return to the apartment until Avery’s eyes could barely stay open another minute.

The following morning,Wilder scrambled a few eggs for their breakfast, his omega sitting with feet elevated in the living room. Avery’s phone rang as Wilder slid eggs onto plates already filled with bacon and toast. He carried the plates to the living room while he picked up bits of Avery’s conversation.

“It’s wonderful to hear from you.” Avery paused, frowning slightly as if deep in concentration.

Wilder laid the two plates on the coffee table before sitting down beside his mate.

“Oh, have you two met?” Avery asked, casting an odd glance at Wilder.

Wilder shrugged, curious about who was on the other end.

“Of course I’m interested… but you do realize I’ll be giving birth soon. I might not be available for a while.”

Wilder searched Avery’s face as a thought of who might be on the line hit him.

“Okay, okay, thanks so much for the call. I look forward to hearing from you soon.” Avery ended the call and cocked his head toward Wilder. “Trying to get rid of me so soon?”

“I have no idea what you mean.”
