“All done?” Gray asked.

“Yep… got all the way through the Zs,” Rohan replied before collapsing beside his mate and pressing a gentle kiss to Gray’s forehead. “And I do mean Zzzzzzs…” he added, feigning a snore.

“It wasn’t that bad,” Gray admonished, slapping a gentle hand against Rohan’s chest. “The Z families had to sit through all the others.”

“Sure, sure,” Rohan muttered, his stare caught on his mate’s.

Wilder watched the same look of love that had always been reserved for Jamie crossing his best friend’s face—and felt a momentary stab of jealousy on his deceased brother’s behalf.

“Unkka Wile?” Silver asked from his arms, dragging him from the outrageous thought—Jamie had wanted this for Rohan and Gray—and he quickly allowed the emotion to drift.

“Yes, Silly?”

Silver giggled. “Gotta pee.”

Both Rohan’s and Gray’s heads swiveled up.

“Grab him,” Gray urged Rohan.

Rohan jumped up and snatched Silver from Wilder’s arms, passing a whining Jaymes. The pair disappeared into the crowd. Jaymes glanced up at Wilder, uncertainty in his eyes. Wilder didn’t want to play favorites, but he seemed to gravitate toward Silver. Maybe facing his brother’s namesake was just too hard to do. It wasn’t the child’s fault, and he decided in that moment to rectify the mistake.

“Hi,” Wilder murmured, smiling.

“Hi,” Jaymes replied before placing his head on Wilder’s shoulder.

Wilder sat down beside Gray, attempting to get out of the growing crowd attempting to exit the auditorium.

“We’ve been trying to potty train these two, but they’ve been obstinate,” Gray murmured next to his ear.

“They’ve only just turned three. That’s the right age, right? Or not…?” What did Wilder know? He hadn’t considered himself a kid person—not until his brother’s children had been born. What little of childrearing he knew was from his own life and watching his parents with his younger brother.

“Two to three… and neither has been much of a fan. Silver likely wanted to go chirp in the bathroom. He likes the echoes.” Gray laughed, somewhat rousing Jasyn from his slow drift into sleep. The boy furiously suckled for a few more seconds before drifting off again, milk leaking from the corner of his mouth.

“We would like to get them into nursery school in the fall, and they won’t be allowed admission if they’re still not trained.” Gray carefully extracted the babe from his nipple and covered up.

“School? Already?”

“It’s never too early to get them accustomed to the classroom and socialization. It’ll only be for half a day—and give me a brief break from having all four of them begging for my attention.”

Not long after the new school year began, Gray would give birth to the baby round in his belly. It was smart to get the boys ready for their education and allow Gray to focus more attention on their newborn.

“I’m sure it isn’t easy when Rohan’s not around.”

“Well, I have the manny, and the help around the house. And my nephews—” he paused, searching around, “Where have those two wandered off to?”

Wilder searched the wide corridor and saw the pair in line at the concession stand. “Hungry, obviously.”

Gray looked past him and snickered. “Those two arealwayshungry. I have groceries delivered and by the next day, they’ve devoured half of them and I have to order more. Then I add in extras to compensate, and they still eat more. I can’t win.”

“Sounds like they’re not much help, then.”

“Oh, they help, even if it’s sometimes accompanied by a grumble and a groan or two.”

“Teenagers,” Wilder muttered, shaking his head.

“You’ll have some of your own someday,” Gray said, a grin spreading his mouth wide. “And then you can talk.”

Wilder smiled… but it soon faded… as he witnessed Abraham walking their way.
