Epilogue Two: Chris
“Baby? You home?” I step into our house and listen but I can’t hear any of our kids running at me.
Three. We now have three babies. And they are a constant source of joy and crazy in my life.
But it couldn’t be better.
“Up here?” she calls and I follow the sound of her voice. Rose petals flutter on the stairs and I grin.
“Where are the kids, sweetheart?”
I push open the door to the bedroom and my heart stills in my chest. “You’re a fucking vision. What the hell are you trying to do to me? I could have had a heart attack right here and died a happy man.”
She laughs, her blond hair swinging. Her hands sit on her wide hips and she’s wearing a black teddy that barely covers her ass and those luscious breasts that I love to devour. “You’d be a lot happier if you came over here.”
“Damn right,” I mutter. I stalk over to her and groan, sliding my hands up her silky skin and the satin teddy.
“I left the girls with Ruth for the whole night. She’s keeping an eye on Jackie’s kids as well. They’re having a date night for the first time since…well since her man got the job. The twins are being a rambunctious pair and she’s about to go nuts.”
“Can we talk about how beautiful you look in this thing instead of your friends?”
“Absolutely. Would you like to do anything else but talk?”
She smiles wickedly and I throw her across my shoulder, stalking to the bed. I toss her on it and before she’s done bouncing I’ve got my clothes off and I’m prowling up her ivory curves.
“I would like to bury myself in you. That’s what I’d like. All night long.”
Her hands twine around my neck and her fingers dance through my hair. I shiver.
“I think that can be arranged.” I kiss her desperately, still needing her so much.
She’s mine. She’s always been mine. I sink into her silken heat and her lush legs wrap around me and it’s heaven all over again.
Heaven and hell because I know it will end. But while I’m in her arms? There’s no better place to be.
I pull her until she’s over me and she rides me, her head thrown back, her body cradling mine. In and out, up and down until both of us collapse in a heap, shivering and falling apart.
“I love you,” I whisper.
“Forever,” she whispers back.
