“Sure.” I said, stripping off my clothes.

Snow looked at me and blushed before quickly turning away.

“Sorry. I’m used to getting undressed in front of people.” I chuckled.

“Right.” She laughed, getting stripped down before climbing into one of the showers on the left side of the room.

“You have a cute body. You could totally work at Ruby’s.”

She turned around to look at me, rinsing the soap out of her hair. “You think?”

“Yea. Although, who knows what’s going to happen after the dark Queen is gone. Would you go back to the castle?”

“Oh.” She hesitated. “I hadn’t really thought about that.”

“You’re going to stay here?”

She was quiet. “I don’t know. Is that weird?” Her voice held a note of sadness in it. “This place has always felt like home, more than the castle ever did, but I guess that’s because my entire life was confined to a room no bigger than the shower stall you’re standing in.”

“Shit. That sucks.”

“Yea.”

“I’m sure coming here was a lot different.”

“Yea. I almost feel like I was fated to show up here… is that weird? Everyone has been so welcoming.”

“Everyone? Even Gage?”

She chuckled. “Even him. He has his moments, but he isn’t all that bad when you get to know him.”

“I have, and he just seems like an ass all the time.”

“Well…” she hesitated. “Well, yeah, he kind of is, but sometimes he can be nice.”

I laughed. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen that side.”

“He tries to keep it hidden.”

“You seem like you have a crush on him.”

She laughed. “I don’t know if I would call it that.”

I wasn’t going to push it, but I could hear it in her voice. She definitely had feelings for him, and why wouldn’t she? He was fucking gorgeous in a bad boy kind of way. Dark hair, short beard, and crystal blue eyes that sparkled. Made me want to touch myself right here. Only a few girls had gotten the pleasure of having him and the stories they told… my mind wandered, causing my skin to flush.

Snow cut the water off and climbed out, wrapping the towel around her, bringing me back to reality.

After we got dressed, we went downstairs and helped Calix set the table.

“You know it’s a good thing I love to cook so much food.” He cackled.

“You are the best cook.” Snow said, slipping her arms around his neck from behind.

He tilted his head onto her arm. “You know all the right things to say.”

“Well, it’s true.”

“What about my rabbit stew?” Dresden chimed in.
