When I opened my eyes, I gasped.

“What did you guys do?” I asked a question I already knew the answer to. So without waiting for an answer, I dropped Embry’s hand I had still been holding and spun around in a circle.

They made me a baby room.

It was not only adorable but beautiful too. Having no clue if I was having a boy or a girl, it was designed perfectly for either one. What really got me was the painting on one of the cream-colored walls that mimicked the wrapping paper I loved so much with the teddy bears. Soft, fluffy, sleeping bears laid lazily in the curved yellow half-moons, as puffy clouds and stars surrounded them. In scrolled letters toward the top, it said, “Dream Big.”

It was perfect as was the rest of the room. A wooden crib, toy chest, dresser, and more adorned the stunning room. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

“My uncle Landon painted that picture for your baby, just like he did for Noelle, me, and all the kids. Aren’t we lucky?”

“Yes, we are, sweetheart.”

I hadn’t been to anyone's homes so I never saw any of the paintings she was talking about, but Landon had done a phenomenal job. Turning toward him, I let him know.

“Thank you, this is so good. You are very talented.”

“You’re welcome. It was my pleasure and I enjoy doing it.”

I looked at the ladies standing watching the exchange and shook my head. They knew I loved that paper, savored it when I tried to open it and they helped do all this, including having Landon paint this for my little one.

“Thank you all so much. You’ve all gone overboard but I love it.” Just when I was about to get emotional, Hudson, Jurnee, and Braxton’s little man ran over to the wall.

“Nap-nap time,” he said.

Laughter rang out around the room and my heart melted at the little guy. All these kids were the most precious thing. Hand on my stomach, it chose that moment to growl with hunger and my eyes opened wide, cheeks heating in embarrassment. Not again, I thought. Kace didn’t comment this time, but Summer told everyone to go out to the living room and asked the other ladies if they would get the food ready.

I couldn’t believe they’d brought food too.

I was seriously being spoiled. Kace glanced over at me and I gave him a small smile before he left the room. He always seemed to be checking on me one way or another.

“I still can’t believe you guys did all this,” I told Summer, turning her way.

“You deserve it. Now let's go see the rest of the place.” She linked her arm with mine and guided me out the door. “I hope you will like it.”

“You’re kidding. I already love it.”

It washome.

My feet were killing me.

Everyone had taken their kids home, but Kace and Gemma stayed behind to clean up. I tried helping but they wouldn’t hear of it. That turned out to be a good thing with my swollen feet, but I still felt guilty.

As they finished up in the kitchen, I sat in the plush recliner, my feet up, and gazed around the room. After I had gotten to see the whole place, I was in even more awe. Not only was it spectacular but everything in it was so nice. Content and tired, I laid my head back intending on just resting my eyes. I don’t know how long had passed when I heard Kace’s voice.

“Hey, Little Momma, wake up.”

His feather-light voice washed through me and I stirred in the chair. My eyes fluttered open to find him kneeling beside the recliner looking at me with a soft smile on his face. When the man smiled it transformed his face and could be very dangerous to all females around.

Just not me.

I had another kind of danger lurking that I had to free myself of.

Pulling my gaze from his, I stretched a little and tried shaking the fog from my brain. It felt good to sleep. Having someone in the house I could trust made me safe enough to let my guard down and my body had finally relaxed enough to get a little shut-eye.

And the realization that I trusted Kace and Gemma made me break out in a smile too. I needed that and I never thought it was something I would have in my life again. Then, a giggle broke free from my lips when I thought of what he just called me.
