Forever.

I was about to reply when my gaze landed on the huge bookshelf on the other side of the room. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t noticed it. Books were my thing. I must have seriously been losing it. Standing, I rushed over to take a peek.

“Oh my gosh, you have so many books,” I told Summer.

She had got up and came to stand beside me. “Oh, those are not mine. That’s Gyth’s collection.”

I gasped and she snickered.

“You’re teasing.” When I looked at her, she shook her head.

“Nope, Gyth loves to read. And he reads a bit of everything. He has a ton of books at our place too but left a shelf here with a mix so whoever was staying could have their pick if they wanted to give something a try.”

I picked up a book that had a hot, muscled fireman on the cover and gulped. “Every Moment With You by J.E. Parker,” I read aloud. “Gyth read this?” I asked her with a raise of my brows.

“Well, that one was mine originally. Alley is friends with the author and made us all read her books, including Gyth. You should give it a try.”

I loved finding new authors and I would definitely be borrowing this one while I was staying at the condo. How cool was it that Alley knew an author?

“That is awesome. I've owned a bookstore and don’t know a single author.”

A huge smile spread across Summer’s face. “You do now,” she stated.

My brows crinkled in confusion. Then, Summer picked up another book off the shelf and handed it to me. I dropped my gaze to the cover. It had a couple on it. They were in a bedroom, the gorgeous man had the woman pushed up against the wall, her legs wrapped around him and they were locked in a passionate kiss. It was damn sexy too. Then my eyes dropped to the bottom and I saw the author’s name.

“Holy shit.” Eyes wide, they turned back to Summer. “Alley?” My mouth gaped open and closed like a fish.

“Yup. Our girl is a romance novelist. And she’s good too. Wait until you read that one.” The pride in Summer’s tone was as clear as day. “You are going to have so much fun talking about books with her.”

This group of friends got more interesting, amazing, and sweeter by the minute. I had a feeling that if I got to know them and learned about each of them, their stories would blow my mind.

“I can’t wait.”

“Mommy, look who we found,” Zander said, racing back into the condo.

When I twirled around to see who got him so excited, I sucked in a quick breath. It was not who I'd been expecting at all and I was stunned speechless.

What the hell is he doing here?

But my stomach took a nosedive when my gaze moved down to Zander’s small hand wrapped in Rowan’s. My breathing picked up and I felt lightheaded.

This cannot be happening now.

Gyth walked in behind the two with his arms full of stuff and stopped. Taking in the room, his gaze came to mine and I could tell that he may know more than anyone else. But he must not know everything or I didn’t think we’d all be standing there like we were.

“Guess what, Mommy?”

When my eyes roamed back to my son’s, I could see him practically dancing in place and he didn’t wait for me to answer before he told me exactly what I was supposed to be guessing.

“Rowan lives right down the hall. Isn’t that great?”

Gasping, my eyes flashed to Rowan’s and I thought I might be sick.

Because nope. Just, nope. This could not be happening.

My mind quickly recalled something that was said at Gyth’s and Summer’s before we had headed over here. Teal had told me the security on my floor was amazing.

“You’re the security,” I muttered, not meaning to say it out loud but I had. That was clear by the look on Rowan’s face.
