I chuckled and when I looked over Zander was already at the counter chatting with Capri. “Guess he’s hungry.”

I took Brin’s hand and guided her to the woman waiting. I had a feeling they would get along great and if my girl was serious about the spot next door it just might be perfect.

“I’m hungry too,” she whispered seductively.

“You can have extra dessert later,” I told her and winked.

“One more,”Brin said, fusing her mouth to mine.

Gyth had brought Dexter over to the condo and he was currently in Zander’s room talking to the boys. Since he was staying outside Alley’s place he was taking Brin over with him. I trusted the man immensely and knew she was in good hands but was having a damn hard time letting her go.

And she was struggling too.

We’d been standing at the door for ten minutes and every time she was about to tell Gyth she was ready, she’d asked for another kiss instead. Hell, I couldn’t complain about that, her lips were like soft, puffy clouds that felt like heaven against mine. And the taste of her mixed with the cherry ChapStick she’d put on had me going back for more.

Brin was an addiction that I was happy to have.

Between the two of us, she may never get out of here.

“Are you two done yet?” Gyth said, coming toward us. “We gotta get going. You two will have to pick this up tomorrow.”

I heard the little ones giggle in the background and we broke apart.

“They are always kissy-kissy now,” Zander said.

“Tell me about it, my mom and dad do it all the time too,” Dexter said.

And then they giggled again and ran back down the hall.

I raised my eyebrows at Gyth. “You’re giving me shit and yet your son just outed you about lip-locking habits?” I pointed to the hall. “Give us a minute.”

Gyth's deep chuckle shook his huge frame. “Hey, what can I say? When we fall, we fall hard.” He walked past us and opened the front door. “I’ll be right outside waiting. Don’t take too long, it’s been forever since my wife has kissed me.” He winked and shut the door.

Brin’s sweet laughter settled my soul.

“That guy is something,” she said. “I’m glad I came to find him.”

“Yeah, why is that, baby?”

“Because it led me back to you.”

Her words jump-started my heart and had it beating furiously.

“I guess we kind of owe him. Remind me to thank him later. But I draw the line at namingournext kid after him,” I teased.

Brin froze and her ocean blue eyes rippled with emotion and then everything she was feeling crested like an enormous wave.

I realized what I’d said and while it had just popped out, I knew after a few seconds that I meant it. Our true feelings came from our hearts and sometimes our minds had to play catch up. I’d spoken without thinking and it came from the right place.

She studied me with her gaze and seemed to find what she was looking for. “You mean that, don’t you? That you would have another child?”

I brushed away a strand of hair that had fallen into her face and rested my hand on the side of her neck. “With you, yes.”

“Rowan,” she whispered. “You never wanted children. Not after—” Stopping abruptly, she bent her head. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bring it up.”

Moving my hand under her chin, I raised her head so she was looking at me again.
