"I would make you," he said, "but I see Foster over there. So ..."

"So I guess we go back to barely standing each other," I said, winking at him.

"Yeah, I guess we do." He nodded with a stern expression on his face. "Foster," he said, "your sister is really getting on my nerves."

I stared at him in surprise. Foster looked over at me and rolled his eyes. “Oh gosh, what did she do now?” I couldn't believe that Foster didn't even blink an eye at the comment.

"She told me that she wasn't going to get the smoothie they have available because they—"

“Should we go somewhere specific to see Alice?” Foster cut Oliver off.

"I think we can just stand here," I said.

"Why are you more nervous than me? Actually, I don't even want to know right now."

"Rosalie!"

I heard Alice's familiar voice and looked around in excitement. Then I spied my best friend with her long blond hair and hazel eyes.

“Oh my God! Alice, you look amazing!” I went running and grabbed her. We hugged each other for a couple of seconds, just staring at each other.

“I’ve missed you,” she said.

“I’ve missed you, too.”

“Um, guys?” Foster said, coming out behind us. “It’s been, what? A couple of weeks since you’ve seen each other?”

I turned around and glared at him. “You’re so unsentimental, Foster.”

“So what?” he said, grinning at me. “Hey, Alice." He gave her a huge smile. "It's so good to see you. It's been what, a couple of years?"

"I think it has," she said with a nod, smiling back at him. "Hey, give me a hug. We're old friends."

He pulled her into his arms, and I watched as they hugged. And then Oliver stepped up.

"Hey, Alice. So good to see you."

"You too, Oliver. Thank you so much for getting the ticket. You really did not have to get me a business class seat."

"Oh my gosh! You flew business class?" I said, pure envy in my voice.

"Hey, maybe if we go somewhere one day, we can fly business class." Oliver smiled at me.

Foster looked at me and shook his head. "Don't go promising her that, Oliver. Because you know who's going to have to pay? Me."

"Excuse me, Foster. I can pay for myself."

"Uh-huh. Get a job, and then I'll believe that."

"I'm looking."

"Well, well, well," Alice said with a small laugh. "I see things are back to normal already."

"Yeah, they are," I said, linking my arm through hers. "Should we go and get your bags?"

"Yeah, let's do it. So what's the plan for today? I'm so excited to see New York. Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to be here. I can't believe it!"

I watched Oliver and Foster exchange glances, and I knew exactly what they were thinking. They were thinking, "What have we gotten ourselves into?"
