"That's why I came to the office to see you too," she said. "I feel like we don't have any time with each other, and I wanted to come after my interview."

"Your interview?" I stared at her in surprise. "What interview? You didn't tell me you had an interview."

"I didn't want to say anything, but, wait, you love me?"

She stared at me with her jaw open, her eyes wide, and I nodded.

"I love you, Rosalie. I think I've loved you for a really long time, and I'm such a dumbass that it's taken me this long to figure it out. But I don't want to do what we've been doing anymore. I want us to be official. I want us to make this real. I don't care what your brother has to say. You're important to me, and—"

Before I could finish speaking, she grabbed my head and pulled me toward her and kissed me hard. I sighed in relief. She was forgiving me. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her to me close as I kissed her back passionately. I couldn't believe that I'd almost lost her. I knew I never wanted to experience anything like that again. I knew we had to come clean about it all.

Chapter35

Rosalie

I looked at Oliver with love in my eyes. I couldn't believe the various emotions that had passed through me in the past twenty minutes. When I'd walked in and seen Diana in his office, my heart had sunk. And when she'd pushed her panties into his pocket, I'd wanted to die. I had never felt more heartbroken in my life. I'd arrived at the office so excited to tell him my news, but then I thought he'd done the worst thing that he ever could have possibly done to me.

"So Rosalie," he said, cupping my face.

"Yes," I said, softly looking at him.

"I know that you've just graduated from college, and you're brand new to the city, and you might want to explore meeting other guys and going on dates and all that. And I understand that. I don't want to trap you. I don't want to make you commit to something you're not ready for. I will wait for you for however long it takes for you to find yourself and live your life and party and do all the things you..."

"Oliver, I don't want to meet other guys. I don't want to party if it's not with you. Don't you know I love you too? I've loved you since I was a teenager. I've loved you forever. Why did you think I stopped talking to you when I was seventeen? That kiss meant the world to me. I thought you were going to propose to me or something. And then I hear that you're calling me a fat pig or whatever." I started laughing hysterically. "I've always wanted to be with you, Oliver. It's always been you."

"You mean it?" he said, a warm, deep smile on his face.

And I nodded. "Yeah, I do. It's you. You're the one for me."

"So does that mean you kind of love me too?"

"Yes, Oliver. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you so much that I don't even know if there are words in the dictionary to express how deeply I feel."

His gray eyes shone at me. "Oh, Rosalie. You don't know how happy you've made me."

"Really? But what about Foster?"

"We'll tell him eventually," he said, laughing. "And when I say eventually, I mean soon. I think we just have to figure out how to tell him because I think it’ll come as a bit of a shock, right? We argue all the time, and we're kind of like frenemies, and then we're going to tell him we're dating?"

"True," I said. "I guess he has absolutely no clue, and it will be a shock. Do we tell him that we've been messing around?"

"I don't know," he said. "Let me think on it." He pulled me into his arms and kissed me again. "I can't believe how fucking lucky I am that you came back into my life."

"I guess you should be thankful to my university."

"Why should I be thankful to your university?" He looked confused.

"Because if I didn't study English literature, I might have had a real job when I graduated. And if I had a job when I graduated, I probably wouldn't be living with you and Foster."

"Boy, two beers and three thumbs up to your university and your stupid English literature degree."

I laugh. "Well, it's not that stupid because guess what?"

"What?" he said.

"I got the job."

"The job at the school?"
