"Yeah. I'm going to be a kindergarten teacher's assistant. They loved me, and I loved them, and I saw Maddie and all these other kids, and it was amazing."

"Are you sure that's something you want to do?"

"For now? Yes. I'm probably gonna try to get my teacher certificate as well so I can be a teacher. It's weird, but I've always liked kids and I don't know why I never thought about that as a career path."

"Well, whatever you want to do, I support you," he said. He wrapped his arms around me. "I can't believe it. We're the typical cliché."

"What's that?"

"An attorney and a teacher."

"Oh, is that a thing?"

"I don't know," he said laughing. "I just know several attorneys whose wives are teachers."

"Ah, are you proposing to me, Oliver?" I started laughing as I watched the expression on his face change to one of slight shock. "I'm joking. Don't worry."

"I'm not worried," he said softly. He grabbed my hand. "You want to go back into the office? I just have a couple of calls to make, and then we can leave."

"Oh my God, I completely forgot you probably had work. I can just go home, and we can chat later."

"Nope. I'm not letting you out of my sight for the rest of the evening. I want to kiss you and touch you, and..." He sighed. "I guess that will be hard with Alice and Foster at home."

"I can call Alice."

"Oh? And say what?"

"I can tell her to tell Foster she's really interested in working at a brokerage and see if he wants to go for drinks to talk about it."

Oliver nodded. "That could be a really good idea."

"Yeah, and I'm sure she'd do it."

"But why would she do it? Wouldn't she be curious why you'd want her out of the apartment?"

I bit down on my lower lip. "Well, not really 'cause she kind of knows about us."

"What? Rosalie, how does she know?"

"I kind of told her when she got here. She's my best friend, and we're girls, and we tell each other everything."

"Well, she can keep a secret because I had no idea she knew." Oliver laughed. "Okay, well you want to call her and see if she can set that up? And then maybe we can have the evening together in the apartment."

"That would be really nice. I could make you dinner," I said.

"Ooh, what would you make me?"

"I don't know. I only know about six dishes, but all six of them are really good."

"Then yeah. Surprise me. Make me something yummy. And I'll figure out dessert."

"You mean you're not going to be dessert?"

"Oh, I'll definitely be one of the desserts," he said, winking as we made our way back to the building. I chewed on my lower lip as we walked in. "What is it?" he said.

"Nothing," I said quickly.

"Tell me, Rosalie. I can read you like a book."
