"Oh, yay. I feel so happy about that." I rolled my eyes. How romantic and sweet of you."

"Rosalie, I don't know what you want me to say."

"I don't know. Maybe you should apologize."

"Apologize for what? I'm sorry. I should have—”

"No. You should apologize for what happened five years ago."

"I wish I knew," he said. All of a sudden, his expression changed, and it was serious. "While I really want to have this conversation, I don't want to get fired from my job. Can we please have this conversation later?"

"Sure. Why not? It's always what you want."

"Rosalie, I don't even know what's going on here." He ran his hands through his hair. "Please, can we just have it in an hour? As soon as the ceremony is done, I'll take you to dinner and we can talk."

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes. "Fine."

"Hey, come on," Billy shouted from the doorway. "We're waiting on you, Oliver.

Oliver looked at me and then at Billy inside. "Are you sure we're okay, Rosalie? Are you?"

"Go."

"Are you coming?"

"No. I really don't care to go in there. I don't want to be a fucking paralegal or legal secretary." I rolled my eyes. "And I sure don't want to be your receptionist at the law firm you work at."

He let out a deep sigh. "Are you going to hate me? If I go in there and leave you?"

"No, not any more than I already hate you anyway. Just go," I pushed him. "Don't worry, I'm not going to leave the hotel. I'll just sit here and wait. I got my phone. I'll speak to Alice or something."

"Rosalie."

"Oliver, you coming?"

Oliver looked over at Billy. "Go inside. I'll be there in a second. Okay?"

"Okay. You know Kramer will be pissed."

"It's fine." Oliver blinked and then looked down at me. "What's going on, Rosalie? Why are you so mad?" This isn't just about tonight. It can't be. Why did you stop talking to me all those years ago? Why..." He let out a deep sigh. "Why did this have to happen tonight?"

"I don't know why it had to happen tonight," I said, "but I'm mad at you because five years ago, you snuck into my bedroom and you spent the night with me. We kissed all night long and then..." I bit down on my lower lip. I could feel the tears starting to well up. "Well, then you broke my heart, Oliver, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to forgive you for that."

"But what did I do, Rosalie? What did I do that was so bad that you would stop talking to me for all those years?"

"You know, Oliver. You know exactly what you did."

Chapter11

Rosalie

"So, Rosalie, was it really that bad," Oliver asked me, a hurt in his eyes that I'd never seen before.

"What are you talking about? Was what really that bad?"

"My kiss," he said. "That's why I kissed you last night, you know."

"What? What are you talking about?"
