"I asked you like five times."

"Maybe I'm still a little sleep-deprived. And you know, the carbo load from the pancakes." Foster groaned.

"Oh, don't even talk to me about pancakes. I haven't had pancakes since I was a little kid."

"Oh, my gosh. You're so health conscious," Rosalie said from the back seat.

"I'm not health conscious."

"Exactly."

"But I do like to watch what I eat."

"So what would you call that then, big bro?"

"I don't know."

"Caring how long I lived till?" Rosalie groaned. "Well, thank you very much, Oliver. Last night and this morning were very special. I think I'd love to do it again."

I looked back at her with a glint in my eyes. "Yeah, I think we will."

"Me too," she said with a wink. And I just shook my head.

"Oh my gosh. You guys are like the pancake king and queens," Foster said. And Rosalie burst out laughing. I watched as he frowned. "I don't really think that's funny."

"You don't think anything's funny."

"So I don't want to be late," Foster said. "What time does Alice arrive again?"

"It's fine," Rosalie said. "She's my best friend. And if I'm not worried about us being late, you shouldn't be worried."

"Well, I want us to give her a warm welcome."

"Not too warm, I hope," Rosalie said, waggling her tongue at her brother.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing. I just don't want you getting any thoughts."

"I have no thoughts about Alice. Don't worry about it."

"Good," she said. "Because I don't want Alice being confused by you. And I don't want her getting upset when Amelia comes over flashing her titties to everyone." Foster groaned.

"Yeah. I'm going to have to speak to Amelia. I really don't want her showing up again." I listened to Foster and Rosalie bantering back and forth. And it brought a huge smile to my face. It reminded me of my childhood and the way they'd always argue about random little things. It was funny how siblings did that. It was something I'd missed growing up, having a brother or a sister. Someone to always talk to. Someone to scrabble with. Someone I knew who would always have my back. Though Foster was like my brother, even if he wasn't blood.

"Okay, let's park here," I said. "I think this will be the fastest way to meet Alice near her luggage."

"Oh my gosh. I hope she didn't bring a lot of stuff," Foster said. "She does know that we don't have a big place right now."

"Right now," Rosalie said.I quickly looked at her and glared. I really didn't need her tospoil the surprise. Foster would kill me.

"Yeah. Right now. Okay." Foster parked in the slot and jumped out of the car. "Come on, guys. We don't want to be late to pick up Alice."

"That should be my line," Rosalie said. We trailed Foster, who was walking a million miles a minute.

"Dude, is my brother into Alice?" Rosalie asked me softly, and I shrugged.

"I don't know. I mean, he's never said that to me, but…"
