I shuffle back and forth on my feet, building up the nerve to walk through the door. When I’m finally there, I take a step forward, and he pulls me back, spinning me into him. He lowers his forehead to rest against mine.

“You took so long that now I need a moment,” he mutters.

“Are you nervous, Julian Bellamy?” I jest.

“It’s not every day you meet your future wife’s parents,” he admits his fear out loud, and I chuckle.

“You’ve met them before.”

“In rehab. That doesn’t count. This is much different. We’re about to break the news to them about our engagement.” He breathes out heavily. “I never asked your dad for his permission,” he winces, and I smile.

“I’m pretty sure the man that single-handedly saved our family doesn’t need permission, Julian. They’re going to love you.”

I place a chaste kiss to his lips, hoping he can feel just how much I mean those words, and just how much I love him.

“Besides, it’s Law who should worry about meeting them.”

Julian’s brow quirks in question.

“What do you think my dad will do when he finds out Law was the one in our bedroom when we were kids?” Julian’s nose scrunches up in anoh shit, he’ll kill himlook.

“What makes you think he’ll ever meet your parents?”

It’s my turn to quirk a brow. “Well for starters, our wedding,” I say, ticking off a finger.

“And seriously? You’re going to pretend to me that your brother isn’t head over heels in love with Maggie as much as she is him?”

He smiles. “I wouldn’t dare insult your intelligence, love. “But I think that’s something we should leave up to them to figure out. We’re not going to meddle.”

I scoff, knowing full well he meansI’mnot going to meddle.

“Marina,” he coos, placing his finger under my chin and turning my head toward him. “Enough stalling. It’s time. Are you ready?”

I take a deep breath, squeeze his hand, and say, “Together.”

“Always.”
