Dinner was placed in front of us. We sat politely waiting for the waiter to leave, then each looked from our plate to each other and burst out laughing.

“I have never, ever eaten that much bread before in my life.” She held her stomach.

“I have.” I lifted my fork. “Just eat what you can or what you want. It’s no big deal.”

“We could take our leftovers for later,” she said.

“Take our leftovers? I’ve never done that before.” I shook my head. “That sounded snobby. What I meant was that I usually finish my food.”

“Such a good little boy,” she teased. “If I try to eat this, I may have to change my clothes.”

“We could do that. I wonder if Charlie could land the helicopter on our building so we could put our sweatpants on?” We both laughed.

When we stopped laughing, we looked around to find an audience of frowning faces. I guess we just weren’t the fancy dinner type. We both picked at our food. After fifteen minutes we gave up. I called for the waiter for the bill.

“Why don’t we donate the food?” she asked, excited. “Those people on the streets look hungry.”

“Good idea, but we would have to go find some and we’re all dressed up.”

“I don’t think it would be too very difficult to find some, they are everywhere,” she scolded. “Oh, I guess we won’t see them from a helicopter.”

“We’re not going in the helicopter. We can bring it in case we see someone to give it to.” I asked for it to be boxed up. “Are you ready for the next thing?”

“There’s more?”

“Follow me, madame.”

Bond appeared out of nowhere as we approached the elevators. He nodded, waited for us to get on. Then I saw him go to the staircase. I had a feeling he would beat the elevator down. Sabrina stood next to me, still holding on to my arm. We both awkwardly noticed at the same time, then separated.

“What’d you do, stop at every floor?” Bond teased from the door when it opened. “Your chariot awaits.”

“We are going in a chariot?” She looked to me. “That is not in the movie.”

“It’s a saying. It’s not really a chariot. Although, I do owe you a horse carriage ride.” I walked us to the limo. “We can do that when we get back from the manor.”

“I would like that. Now we need to find someone to give our food to.” She leaned into the window, looking out.

I had Bond take us through the more populated streets where there was always a street person to be found. Within minutes, we spotted a few. Bond pulled the car to the curb.

“You wait here. I can give out the food.” Bond jumped out with the two boxes.

When he returned, Sabrina was all smiles. “I want to do that again. Can we do it every day?”

“I don’t see why not. You can even order fresh food for them and Bond can deliver it.” I buckled my seatbelt. “Are you ready to finish our date now?”

ChapterFifty-Five

SABRINA

Our date? Is this like a real date, like he likes me kind of date?

The rest of the ride I recognized the ballet going on inside my stomach. It hadn’t occurred to me that this was an actual date. I guess I had thought it was just a night out. My head was spinning. Would he try to kiss me? Would I want him to? Would I kiss him back? Would it make things weird? The car came to a stop in front of a Madame Tussaud’s house. I had no idea why we would be there, but I trusted Cota. I put a smile on my face and accepted his offered hand to get out.

“I don’t know if you’ve ever been to one of these, but I hope you enjoy it.” Cota waved to the guys as we went insi

“What is this place?” I asked. “Everyone is being so quiet.”

“This is called a wax museum.” Cota pointed to a woman on the other side of the room. “They make a mold of famous people so you can see what they look like without ever meeting them.
