“I must get back; you are bad for me with this break.” She yawned again.

“I will stay and cheer you on,” I promised.

“You need not. We will practice several hours which will also include a dress rehearsal. It may get boring for you.”

“I will stay for a bit, but I don’t want to spoil my surprise for the show tomorrow night.” I put my hand out to help her up.

“How will this work with the show and our costumes?”

“The show will be first, so I will meet you backstage and we can get changed into costumes then.”

We arrived back at the theatre and I made sure to go in and speak with Matt. I had a feeling I wasn’t very friendly earlier. “Matt, I do hope you stay for the party after.”

“Thank you, Mr. Hawthorne, that sounds like fun.” He smiled.

“Bring a friend if you want. I know how hard it is to be at a big party and not know anyone.” I looked down to my cell.

“I don’t have any friends in the area. Sabrina is my only friend, but I hope to make some.” He half-smiled. “Thank you again for this opportunity.”

“She is our mastermind, and she says you are the best partner for tomorrow.” I looked to my ringing cell again. “I really must take this. Sabrina, I’ll see you tonight.”

I walked away answering the call. “Murphy, remind me to have you smack me later.”

“Oh, do tell, cousin dear,” Murphy joked. “Dare I ask if it has something to do with Sabrina and that attractive young dancer she’s been spending all her time with?”

“How’d you guess?”

“For all the reasons I just stated. Duh.”

“Why are you calling me?” I laughed into the phone.

“My mother got word that some of Yury’s people are in town. Just thought you should know.” She added, “She’s already let Bond and Charlie know.”

“Good. What did you decide about cancelling his troupe from performing at our theatre?”

“’Our theatre’, is it?”

“Yeah. I figure with my wife being a dancer and you needing me.” I let that thought trail off. “I’m in is what I’m saying.”

“You have any progress with your dad?”

“None, but it’s okay. I have Sabrina, the theatre, and the project I’m starting with Sawyer.”

“You should talk to our cousins at the party,” she sighed. “Not me or my brothers, our western cousins. I hear they’re going to be branching out. Maybe they need designs.”

“It’s a thought. Wouldn’t that just make my father angry? He and Uncle Jimmy are still disputing over something or another.”

“What are you doing tonight?”

“The guys want me to meet them for happy hour but, with this new Yury info, I may stay home.”

“That’s what we pay Bond and Charlie for. However, can you meet me at the theatre around four o’clock?”

“Sure, what do you need?”

“Now that we own the building next to the theatre, I was thinking we should expand and I need a forward-thinking designer.”

“What about your brothers?”
