CHAPTERTHIRTEEN

Joey

Idon’t know what it is about mornings, but I love this time of day. Gavin is a natural early riser and this morning is no different. Before my eyes even have a chance to open, his mouth is on me. That lush beard tickles the insides of my legs as he moves over me. Still naked from the night before, he finds his meal easily, and with the first lick of his wide tongue, I’m wide awake. I moan with the intense sensation he causes. Each delicious flick he delivers with expert precision and relentlessly devours my most intimate place. I arch and thrash under his power. Calling his name, moaning as he brings me to the peak, I crash hard, shaking with a blissful orgasm. Slowly he licks his way up and kisses my hip bone.

“God baby, you taste so good.”

“You are unbelievable. Had I known you would be addicted to my lady taco, I would have moved out here long ago.”

He laughs and hops out of bed.

“Where are you going? We aren’t done.”

“God knows it pains me to deny you anything, but I have a flight. I’ve got to go get a client and bring him back to his cabin here with his old lady. I’d love for you to come, but I really have to watch my weight.”

He brings me a warm wet washcloth, and instead of giving it to me, he runs it gently across my sensitive center. Gently but with ownership. His eyes burn for me, and still, he doesn’t make a move to take more. My heart might actually explode if he keeps this up.

“Are you saying I weigh so much I would bring your plane down?” I joke, but his face is priceless.

“No. Of course fucking not.” He shakes his head frantically. “I would never. It’s just the max capacity, and with four people, I was just worried about the luggage they might be bringing, which I can’t account for before take-off. But baby, if you want to come, I’ll tell them if they want the ride, they can’t bring shit. Please come.”

After a long pause, he growls as I slowly grin an evil smile to let him know I was joking with him.

“You’re a brat.”

“You should spank me then.”

Another husky growl, and he steps back and closes his eyes.

“I can’t. If I don’t get going, I won’t be back in time to cook dinner for you. You’ll starve. They don’t deliver pizza up here.”

I gasp.

“Go! Get out! Right now, shoo!”

He continues to laugh as I force him into the shower.

“Okay, okay, I’m goin’.”

When he turns the water on, I slip into his boxers and a big t-shirt and make my way into the kitchen. Maybe I could make him a sandwich to take. I can’t burn a turkey sandwich.

Billy the Kid greets me with his adorable bleats, kicking and jumping, so I take a moment to pet and feed him. The little guy has wormed his way into my heart as much as Gavin has. Living in the mountains is a lot different than back home, but I love it. Even the view is better. Instead of rolling waves washing in, I get rolling mountains covered in pine trees as far as the eye can see. They’re beginning to change into beautiful fall colors, making me want to grab the smutty romance novel Octavia gave me and sit by the window.

Instead, I make quick work of packing a lunch I hope he doesn’t hate and fill a thermos of hot black coffee. When he comes out smelling like the wild musky mountain man he is, I have a very hard time letting him go.

“But you’re going to hurry back, right? And you’ll be safe?”

“I’ve flown this exact route for Vince and his girl Harper a dozen times now. Don’t worry. As soon as I land, I’ll call you. Show you the wild city of San Francisco, so you’ll cross it off your list and not make me go there.”

My laugh is weak. He’s trying to cheer me up, but I’ve never been up here alone, and I’m going to miss him.

“I’ll miss you,” Gavin says, placing a small kiss on my nose. The man even reads minds now.

“I’ll miss you more.”

Just for fun, I rub his jeans until I get that growl I love so much.

“Bye.”
