And Dimitri wanted her in his bed. Permanently.

He could acknowledge that to himself, if not to the skittish fashion editor.

He’d barely kept a straight face telling her he planned to get her out of his system.

But if he’d told her the truth, that Abu Dhabi was the first volley in a princely courtship, she would have run fast and far.

Jenna didn’t want to be a princess. She didn’t want to get more embroiled in the lives of the Merikov family than she already was.

It was Dimitri’s job to convince her differently.

Kon had done it with Emma, and frankly, Dimitri thought his brother had a lot more to overcome than he did.

Though to hear Kon tell it, the opposite was true.

Kon and Nikolai both thought that how Dimitri had handled things so far had been disastrous. Unused to being censured by his brothers, Dimitri had withdrawn from any further personal discussions while he was in Mirrus.

Until his father had cornered him and reminded him that he’d promised to attend an event where potential partners for him had been invited. Unwilling to get into who he was hoping to align his life with, Dimitri had gone.

If he was lucky, the pictures of him talking and dancing with a princess would hit the news cycle while they were in Abu Dhabi, and Jenna would never even see them.

Jenna would deny that she cared, but Dimitri did not need to remind her that his father thought other women were potential wives for him. She was skittish enough as it was, but they connected in a way he’d never thought to with a woman.

Dimitri had no desire to fall in love like his brothers.

What both Kon and Nikolai had gone through because they loved the women they’d married wasn’t something Dimitri ever wanted to experience himself. He and Jenna got along well, and their sexual chemistry was off the charts. She fit in with the rest of his family and had been doing so for several years.

She was perfect for him.

Now, he just had to show her how perfect he could be for her as well.

It started with a last-minute trip to Abu Dhabi.

CHAPTER TEN

JENNAWOKESURROUNDEDby warmth and feeling more rested than she had since discovering Skylar’s penchant for spying.

A heavy masculine arm rested over her body at her waist, heated strength all along her back.

She turned to face him, inhaling his scent. “Mmm...” she practically purred. “You smell good.”

“I had a video meeting, so I showered.”

And yet, he’d undressed again and returned to her bed. Pleasure at that knowledge coursed through her.

“When is our takeoff?”

“We have two hours. Just enough time.”

“For?” As if she didn’t know.

“This.” He nuzzled in, kissing her neck and sending shivers of delight cascading along her nerve endings.

They barely made their takeoff time.

Jenna settled comfortably in her seat beside Dima, accepting the flight attendant’s offer of her favorite bubbly water infused with citrus.

“You’re used to flying by private jet,” he observed.
