A man dressed in crisp sailor blues stepped forward to open her door when the driver pulled the luxurious sedan to a stop beside the curb.

He offered her a hand out of the car. “Miss Beals, His Highness is waiting for you on the yacht.”

She accepted the man’s help but turned to lean back into the car. “Thank you so much, Jackie. You gave me a wonderful tour of the city today. I’ve never seen it in the same way all the times I’ve been here for Fashion Week.”

“It was my pleasure, Jenna.” He winked. “My sister is going to think I’m a hero when I give her those tickets to Fashion Week you arranged for me.”

“I’m glad. Tell her to shoot me an email and let me know what she thought.” Jenna knew a budding fashion designer would leap at the chance to talk to someone with her contacts.

And she was happy to help when she could.

Jackie was fantastic as a driver for Mirrus Global but was only doing it while he finished up his engineering degree.

His younger sister had different aspirations. She’d already gotten into a top fashion design school, and that showed Jenna the young woman was serious about pursuing a career as a designer.

Jenna remembered that time in her life when she’d been going to university for her degree in journalism. She’d had so many plans for what she wanted to do with it, and honestly? Jenna had achieved her goals.

Now she was thirty-five and wondering if she needed new dreams to pursue.

She followed the sailor to a large gleaming yacht. Stepping aboard, she looked around for Dima, but was unsurprised not to find him on the deck.

Most likely he was getting some work in while waiting.

The sailor led her to a large living room where she did indeed find Dima working away on his laptop.

However, he looked up immediately upon her entrance, and his expression said he was glad to see her. “Hello, milaya moy. Did you have a good day?”

“It was fantastic. Jackie is an amazing guide to the city, and that young man is wicked smart.”

“He’ll make a good engineer.”

“You know who he is?” she asked, surprised.

Dima’s dark brows drew together. “You think I would send you out in the city for the day with someone I did not?”

“If I say yes, will that get me in trouble?”

“No trouble, but let me assure you that it is true.” His tone said maybe alittletrouble.

“I believe you now. I just would not have thought that before,” she said in all honesty.

He stood up and moved toward her. “You do not think enough of your own importance.”

“It’s not that I don’t think I’m important. It’s that I can’t be that important toyou.” Still, she didn’t move away from him, did she?

He stopped so his big body was only a breath away from hers. “There you are wrong, Jenna. You are very important to me.”

“Watch it,” she said, fear making her voice harsh. “We aren’t in that kind of relationship, Dima.”

“Jenna, the number of people allowed to call me that name is a very short list and includes only family.” He cupped her nape, his expression showing no hint of humor. “Yet you are on it. What kind of relationship do you think we need for you to be important to me?”

“I just...this can’t be more than what it is.”

“Why is that?” He brushed his lips over hers.

“I...” Telling him would build the intimacy between them. Not telling him could leave him believing there was a chance.

Only, they’d agreed they weren’t doing anything more than sex.
