She smiled and waved.
“What are you doing in town?” I asked.
Leo was another one of our friends from college. He’d moved out of the country after we graduated and only came back to the States once or twice a year.
“I’m here on business and ran into Darron. He said you and Drew would be celebrating here tonight, so I decided to stop by. Where is the waitress? There is no reason for your hands to be empty. Excuse me beautiful,” Leo said to the bottle girl. “Can we get a bottle of your top-shelf bourbon?”
For the rest of the evening, I was pulled in so many directions that Cam and I never got a chance to talk. We danced some more, drank some more, and laughed a lot. It was a great evening.

Morris and I got an Uber home like most of the people who were in the VIP section with us. After all the drinking, no one was in the right condition to drive home. I’d started to drink water towards the end of the evening, but I was still feeling nice.
I rested my head on Morris’ shoulder during the ride to our place. I’d had a fantastic time with him and his friends, but my long day was starting to catch up with me. I replayed the evening in my mind and realized that Morris and I never finished the conversation he’d begun when we were slow dancing.
“You tired?” Morris asked.
“Yeah,” I answered, looking up at him.
“I kept you out too late?”
“No, I had a great time.”
“Thanks again for coming,” he said while tilting my chin up towards him.
“My pleasure,” I breathed just as his lips met mine.
He cupped my face with his hand and kissed me. His touch was gentle, but his tongue was forceful. He kissed me with an urgency like he needed what I had and would take it if necessary, although I was willing to give it to him. I let him lead, not wanting to stop, not wanting to breathe, I just wanted to stay in that perfect moment when the man that I wanted, kissed me like he wanted me too.
We pulled away when we heard the driver clear her throat.
“We’re here,” the driver said and motioned to the security gate in front of her.
“Sorry,” Morris mumbled. “We can walk from here. I will open your door,” he said before stepping out of the car.
“Aye, I don’t blame you, girlfriend. He is fine as fuck,” the driver said.
“Yeah, I’m about to seal this deal,” I chuckled just as Morris opened my door.
“That’s what’s up!” the driver said as I stepped out.

After entering my place, we took off our coats and moved into each other’s embrace. I ran my fingers through both sides of his beard and pulled his face down toward mine. He wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me closer as our lips collided. Instead of fighting me for control, he let me take the lead. I was intentional with every movement. I slid my tongue across the crease of his mouth, requesting access. He acquiesced and gave me all the access I asked for. I loved how soft and pliable his lips were. I loved the feeling of his fingers digging into my side as he tightened his grip around my waist.
He pulled me closer and intensified the kiss. I moaned as his tongue mapped my mouth like a skilled explorer in search of what brought me pleasure. When he found those areas that made me moan, he lingered there before moving on. After pulling back, he gently bit my bottom lip before letting go.
“I’m tired of pretending that I don’t want you. I’m tired of hiding my feelings for you, Cam,” he said.
“I want you too,” I responded.
He backed me into the wall and started kissing my neck. I ran my hands across his back while stretching my neck in whatever direction he needed. He lifted my dress and hooked his thumb into my panties, then said, “Why did you run from me? Why did you leave without saying goodbye? Then you came back and wanted to be friends…why?”
I took a deep breath and said, “I saw you with Angel out in the parking lot the day after we were together. I saw y’all kiss.”
I’d been holding on to that information for way too long.
“Angel and I weren’t together when you and I were. I told you that. She and I had broken up.”
